"Delightful shepherd’s hut set in the mid-Wales countryside. Well equipped and maintained and very comfortable, it was just right for our long weekend visiting friends in the area. The bed was comfortable and the small kitchen and shower room met our needs. We benefitted from excellent weather so were able to take full advantage of the terrace which overlooked a field of buttercups and the nearby hills."

"We stayed for three nights in Snowy Lodge. Check in was easy, your keys are left in an envelope in the small reception, theres a map on the wall to tell you where to go. Take note with regards to check in and check out. Hotels.com states check in at 5 o'clock when its actually between 4 and 5 and check out at 9 when its actually 9:30 to 10. 10/10 Excellent

"First stay for us at The Lion Hotel. We pulled up in front of the hotel. The surrounding countryside is stunning. Our room was very clean and well stocked with teas/coffee/chocolate. We had toiletries in the bathroom and tissues in the bedroom. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was superb and cooked to order. The views from our breakfast table were so pleasant with the river alongside the hotel. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend."

"This is a fabulous hotel in a beautiful building designed before WW1 by Clough Williams-Ellis, who also designed Portmeirion. Perfect for anyone who loves the grandeur of an Edwardian country house hotel set in gently rolling hills. The rooms are beautiful - try and get one in the original house rather than the extension - and the public rooms are large and elegant, filled with antiques and fine paintings. The staff were lovely and friendly, too. The only downside was that the food could have been better, but maybe I just made poor decisions! This hotel is without doubt a haven of peace!"

"Excellent place to stay with dogs as you are self contained with an area to walk them away from the main road. Facilities good, we had a lovely garden cottage - only downside are the doors are built for hobbits (I’m a little over 5ft and had no issues, 6ft + hubby cracked his head once…"

"Location was excellent, free parking onsite and the town is lovely to walk around. Food at the pub was good and the owner was lovely and really helpful. Breakfast was good as well and we could take our dog. The room itself was a little run down but clean and perfectly adequate. The only negative were that the walls are very thin between rooms. We unfortunately had a family staying next door with a screaming baby and we could hear everything, which kept us up until after midnight. Other than that, I would stay here again."
