"It is convenient to park your car at this inn. Highland Gate is not the inn but the the restaurant. The Highland Gate restaurant and Marton's Inn are in two separate buildings. The inn's outside apearance and inside conditions are quite mediocre: carpet in the hallway looks dirty at every entrance to the room; there is no rack or shelve for suitcases though the room size is decent; the bathroom has a peculiar smell (not stinky but unpleasant to me), and the double bed (made of two single beds)...

"A lovely little hotel slightly off the beaten track but within easy distance of Stirling and main routes to the highlands. Beautifully decorated. Excellent breakfast. The pub food is really good too should you need lunch or dinner. It was quite warm and humid when I visited with no a/c, although hotel provided a fan, which was helpful. It’s located at a busy intersection, so there is traffic, but given that it’s located in the country, there is still a sense of peace about it. Highly recommend."

"The hotel was super as usual. The menu in the restaurant however was limited. I would have liked to see a cold option in this heat wave. I did have to phone down to reception at 01:30 due to a party going on in a room next door. It was however dealt with swiftly and this was outwith the hotels control. Room was clean, good selection of tea's in the room with nice biscuits and hot chocolate too. Staff were professional and helpful."

"Room was very comfortable, albeit extremely warm due to the heat wave when we arrived. Staff ae used us a second fan (no room a/c) which helped a lot. Weather cooled off on the second day which helped even more. Our room looked over the back parking lot so the view and privacy were only so-so. Room needed a small table for the two chairs to put your coffee on. We ended up using the ironing board as a make shift table. "This hotel was weird because we never saw anyone like a front desk clerk. I'm not even sure they have a front desk. We arrived around 8:30 PM and the entire hotel was locked/chained in the front, which was incredibly disconcerting. We finally realized there was a note on a side door with a phone number for after-hours help. Called it -- no answer. YIKES! Called again and someone said they'd come give us a key. So she gave us a key and left us to find our way upstairs to our room, which wasn't...

"Room was clean and comfortable. Stsff were helpful and stired ohr luggage forvus because we arrived early. It included a small continental breakfast because the hotel is under construction. Super close to bus and train station with a glass walkway over rails . Close to all amenities under 10 min walk."
