I am extremely disappointed with my stay at Diar Al Khalidiya, especially during Ramadan. From the first day, the WiFi in my room did not work. I reported this 6–7 times, but nothing was done. I was forced to sit in reception for hours just to access the internet, along with other guests facing the same issue. This caused major stress and lack of sleep.
The situation became much worse when my Qatar Airways flight was cancelled due to the Middle East conflict. I urgently needed WiFi to contact family and rebook, but received no real support. I spent over 16 hours in reception trying to resolve this.
Communication was very poor. Most staff did not speak English, except one staff member, Ali, who tried to help. I was also given conflicting information about the WiFi issue by different staff.
Housekeeping was unreliable. I was told my room would be cleaned, but it wasn’t. Later I was told rooms are only cleaned if guests are present, which was never explained.
Despite explaining my situation to the duty manager, no meaningful help was provided. I had to check out early due to stress, lack of sleep, and ongoing issues, yet no refund was offered and the hotel has not responded to Expedia.
This experience was stressful and unacceptable, especially in Makkah during Ramadan. I expected far better service and care.
