"Very crowded hotel. More like a beach club. Food ia way overpriced. Get ready to spend around $250-300 for a very basic lunch for 2. Rooms are smelly and dated. No available sunbeds in the beach after 9am. Very loud and hectic hotel. Stayed there for 2 nights and left with a huge disappointment"
"The cleaning staff were amazing and friendly and the room was well maintained. There were not enough loungers at the pool, which meant you had to get to the pool by 9:00am to get a place. Bar service was slow at all the bars. The resort is very busy and great if you like the constant traffic and noise. The service is much better and faster if you have an all inclusive package but is very costly compared to other resorts. It doesn’t have the best beach and is difficult to snorkel. I would recommend you research resorts in depth before booking. This resort was just not a good fit for the purpose of our travel but it’s beautiful. We were asked if we were there for a special occasion ahead of time, and we told them we were there for our honeymoon, but we’re not sure why we were asked as nothing was done different from other guests."
"Luxury with a Heart
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at SALT of Palmar. Everything, from the food to the accommodation was truly five-star, and the level of service consistently exceeded our expectations. All of the staff were exceptional and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure every guest had the best possible experience.
One of the highlights of our trip was the privilege of visiting a local school for students with disabilities, supported by the hotel. The school caters to children as young as five through to young adults, and the work being done there is genuinely inspiring. The hotel’s support goes far beyond simple donations—they have helped furnish spaces such as a music room and contribute to practical life skills training, including making beds, setting cutlery, laundry, and more. Their fitness coach also visits regularly to support sporting activities.
What stood out most was how modest the hotel is about these efforts—you wouldn’t know about this incredible work unless you spoke to the manager. It’s definitely worth asking about if you visit.
There was absolutely no pressure to contribute, but like many schools, they are always in need of resources and equipment. If you are planning a stay, it may be worthwhile bringing along items such as stationery, toys, or other useful supplies. Monetary contributions are also welcomed, but entirely optional.
Overall, this was an unforgettable experience,"
"I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, but especially not to adults traveling without children. There were bugs in my room that were not cleaned up by housekeeping. My drinking water was not replaced. I only had one towel changed. Mostly it felt like a factory or an assembly line. Staff seemed to shuffle me from one station to another, with few being actually helpful or interested in my questions. Some of the staff were lovely. But they were sadly overshadowed and outnumbered by staff that were outwardly judgmental. I got side eye and spoken to with an undercurrent of disdain and condescension - all with fake smiles and the appearance of helpfulness. For example, around 4pm I asked someone about getting a boxed lunch for the next day. He literally rolled his eyes and said I missed the window, I needed to book that 24 hours in advance and he couldn’t help me anyway because that was the restaurants job. My first night at dinner a DJ appeared around 8pm, a disco ball came down from the ceiling, and colored spot lights started swirling around. Children - most without a parent in sight - appeared and started yelling with joy and running around. When I inquired about other restaurant options that were maybe more low key, without booming dance music, and fewer wild children, I was told with a laugh, a flip of the hair, and evil eyes… but this is a family resort!! For the price point of this hotel, the lack of customer service was unacceptable. "
"We spent 8 nights in this beautiful resort with our extended family. Had a great time! The rooms are spacious and the hotel location is great. The food at all restaurants was really delicious. The only negative aspect is the service at the main patio restaurant and at the pool. Had to wait a lot and always had mistakes in our food/drinks orders. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay. Hotel Riu Palace Mauritius - All Inclusive - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"J’ai beaucoup aimé mon séjour à l’hôtel RiU
Le personnel est très accueillant,la nourriture très bonne et variée
L’aquagym ,les coachs parfait ,les activités ,les soirées animées ,magnifique 👌"
"Hygiene needs improvement, but the staff was responsive and sometimes very attentive. The facilities were good overall, except for the pools, where surface issues may have caused swimmer injuries. The activities and activity staff were excellent, and it’s a great destination for a family vacation."
"Our 2nd visit to this hotel as we found it great value for a fun and also relaxing family holiday.
We loved the Beach location where you wander straight down from the hotel - and enjoy your all
Inclusive drink here too. Sit and relax with gorgeous view of the ocean or take a dip in the crystal clear Sea. Blue Bay is such a perfect spot for snorkelling , straight from the shore you can see the marine life . We loved spotting all the fish, my daughter favourite being the 'Minecraft fish' (box fish). Also make sure to take advantage of the complimentary glass bottom boat trip further out into the Bay.
The staff were fantastic, from check in to The Bar servers, waiting team in the restaurant and cleaning crew . Many of the servers recognised us from previous years and were once again friendly and helpful. They particularly took time with the Kids to ensure they were happy! The Hotel manager also took time to sit with us and talk about how we were enjoying the holiday.
Mostly I have to mention the Club Coralia entertainment team, Yoan & Emmanuelle who absolutely made the holiday! Their efforts and enthusiasm which is recognised a genuine passion for what they do gave the kids the most wonderful experiences and memories they will cherish forever. Nothing was too much for them and they constantly went out their way to ensure the kids (and grown ups) were having a good time- even happily being chased and pushed fully clothed into the pool! Their kindness and warm smiles.
