"Fantastic property in a perfect location in Coimbra! We were greeted at the door and helped in unloading our luggage. We were quickly checked in and directed to our room. They let us leave the car at the front of the building while we took our luggage to the room. Parking was included. The garage was located very close, practically across the street from the hotel. It was modern and safe. The room was a typically small room in Europe, but it was very comfortable. The bed was great. The AC worked fine and the bathroom was very clean and modern. The view from the rooftop terrace was breath taking, especially at sunset, with a perfect view of Coimbra. The restaurant was well stocked...and the included breakfast was one of the best I've had anywhere! With all that, the best part is the location. The hotel is just a block off the river and right next to the center of Coimbra's downtown. There are numerous restaurants as well as shopping and festive street performers within a short walking distance. One warning about Coimbra not related to this hotel is that it is a very difficult town for driving. Very narrow and winding streets up a steep hill up to the university."

"Our stay at the CBR Boutique Hotel was perfect! The hotel is centrally located in a small shopping area and made finding restaurants nearby and walking around to the sights of Coimbra a breeze. The rooms were clean and super comfortable and we loved the charming library motif. The staff was very attentive and helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area. They even made sure our luggage made it to our room as we arrived early before check in time. The breakfast was simple, but everything was fresh and tasty. We especially loved the nice touch of the hotel putting out cakes and cookies starting in the afternoon through to the evening in case we wanted an after dinner treat. I would definitely stay at the CBR Boutique hotel again if traveling to Coimbra! "

"This historical property is absolutely beautiful and amazing. The age means the rooms are a bit tight, the windows shook in the high winds that night, and I would have loved some conditioner in the room, but other than that everything was great. Wonderful, elegant bar area and the French restaurant was top notch. If you are coming to see Coimbra, drive a little further and stay at Bussaco Palace... very reasonable rates considering where you are staying. Also tour the attached convent for 3 euros more... worth it as well. Highly recommend!"

"Rooms was cold. Breakfast girl was mean because I asked “ is it sourdough bread?” She looked at me weird and bad attitude. I don’t know why. The guy was working breakfast bar was nice and kind."

"The property was large for the suite that we booked. Unfortunately there is a bar not too far from this hotel that kept patrons pretty loud until late in the evening drinking and shouting on the street while trying to sleep. Overall the hotel was in a great location to the university of Coimbra and uphill from the downtown city center."
