"Good base for the area, car recommended as limited options for dining in the local area. Rooms are great, cleaned daily. Pool areas are good, not crazy busy, plenty of sun loungers. "
"Sure! Here’s a polished version of your hotel review:
⸻
Clean and simple hotel with everything you need. I was traveling solo, but it seemed popular with families—lots of kids around. The pool area was great, and the daytime poolside restaurant had solid options (loved the burgers). My room was clean, though the walls were thin—I could hear doors slamming pretty clearly. Location was convenient, close to fast food spots and a grocery store. Overall, a good budget-friendly stay in Albufeira."
"Had to wait two hours in the lobby for our room to be cleaned. When we got to the room the bathroom especially the tub was dirty. Painting is chipping everywhere, floor has crack in titles and will cut you. The door to the patio was also broken. Wish they also listed the place does NOT have a/c. "
"Loved our stay. Was the perfect spot, quite enough away from the old town but very accessible when you wanted to go in. There are steps down to the old town so not good if your bad on your feet. Sometimes we got a taxi back and it was only 3 euros, bargain. I would definitely recommend. "
"Very noisy hard trying to sleep , entertainment goes on till 12 pm and can hear in apartments - loads to do there and good area - great for family's - kids won’t get bored "
"We loved our stay so much we extended it. Great location, perfect for our family (2 children). Close to everything while still being outside of the main strip and avoiding the noise from the night life. Will definitely be staying here again"

Aqua Pedra dos Bicos Design Beach Hotel - Adults Friendly
10/10 Excellent
"It was wonderful. Employees so well trained, helpful, friendly, and polite. Amazing breakfast. Excellent amenities. Comfortable and nice size room. Wonderful location, you can walk to the beach in five minutes. Hotel was above and beyond our expectation. "
"My experience at Portobay BlueOcean was truly amazing. Absolutely do recommend this hotel. So clean, they did an amazing job with the renovations and the look of the lounge and other facilities in the hotel. Gives a chic but modern tropical vibe in the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean, the staff is also amazing. They’re always on top of everything and making sure things smell clean and that everything is clean around the grounds and even service at buffet, etc. Walk to the beach is not too bad at all as you can access the walkway to the other hotel PortoBay Falesia and take the stairs to the beach. Food was nothing exceptional but was actually pretty good for a hotel. This is a 4 star but it’s definitely a very good 4 star hotel. Perhaps my only complaints or thing i would say the hotel could improve on was making the grounds a little bit more lively. I know that’s maybe not the vibe they’re going for as it seems more of a hotel to relax and for more retired people and families with kids but just seems like there could’ve been more activities or music or performances that could’ve been done for entertainment. "
"My daughter (aged 9) and I have just returned from a lovely week at Domes Lake Algarve and she is already asking when we can go back. The hotel is a great balance of big, but not too big. We were there mid-August (which I imagine will be one of the busiest weeks of the year) but always managed to find sunbeds when needed and the sand pool is a genius concept. My daughter also loved her sessions at KiEPOS (kids club) which gave me some time to relax and enjoy the spa. A great week all round. "
"Beautiful resort with a very calming vibe. It’s very big but never felt like there were lots of people around or overcrowded. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Large variety of options at breakfast.
The only issue we faced is that it’s quite far away from anything, the nearest shop for amenities is a 25 minute walk away, and you need to get taxis everywhere as there isn’t anything in walking distance or any local transport options, although the resort offers free drop off/pick up at the Marina 3 times per day. Would highly recommend for a relaxing and luxurious break. "
"This hotel is on the top floor of a shopping g mall. You enter through the mall. When the mall is closed you can walk around the empty mall… it’s kind of cool. "
"Perfect place for family three nights away with teenagers. We spent most of the days at the pool by the Casa Azul, lovely breeze, never busy, and handy snack bar for drinks and food right there. Its a little hilly so prob not the best for anyone with mobility issues. Ate breakfast both mornings at the Alfarroba restaurant. (Tip: ordering off the a la carte menu is better value than the buffet but that nay have been because we got the buffet one day as it seemed to be finishing up). Mini market on the site stocks anything you need. Kids played mini golf one evening. The resort is not really walking distance to anything in the heat…maybe had it been cooler and we were there longer, we would have attempted to walk to old town. Ubers were about 6-8 euro into the old town or the strip and were easy enough to get- no waiting. We booked a three bed apartment that was in great condition but had slight sign of wear and tear, mainly with the light in the bathroom not staying on and one plug socket that had come away from the wall. Apartment had everything you could possibly need (washer, ironing board, good kitchen with dishwasher). Bathrooms seemed pretty new and shower had great water pressure. It was advertised as having one bathroom but when we got there, there were two which was a pleasant surprise with 5 people! Tip 2: We ordered groceries and food via Uber eats since it was late when we got there. Overall I was delighted with our time here and the facilities- perfect for us! "
