"The moment I walked into the room, I knew there was going to be trouble. The rank stench of mildew around the entrance hit me in the face like a physical force. I directed my eye to the heavens, but alas there was no aid coming from that direction- merely the evidence of the cause of the stench. The ceiling was visibly bowed, and you could see where they had cut into the ceiling to attempt to deal with the water damage. However, they did not actually fully mitigate it and likely were breeding new species of mold behind the plaster. The furniture, in addition to being ancient and worn, was actually physically damaged. The dresser was also bowed in the middle and drawers didn't want to pull out. Not that I put any clothes in it once I saw how nasty it was, inside and out. Questionable stains of brown to red adorned the box spring sides and various portions of bedding. The walls had visible handprints. The ceiling lights were dingy and had at least some remains of dead bugs inside. The shelf that the mini fridge resided on was sagging, and had literal trash shoved underneath to "even out" the fridge so that it remained somewhat level. The bathroom mirror was so chipped around the borders that at first I thought it was a manufactured bevel. There were almost no useable outlets- one of the outlets was near the ceiling and probably meant for the TV but the property manager had given up attempting to plug anything into that and left it empty and unused."
