Leonardo Hotel and Conference Venue Hinckley Island
8/10 Good
"Very nice hotel with good facilities. Good room, although a fridge & safe in the room would have been useful. Staff were excellent & food in the restaurant and at breakfast was very good."

6/10 Okay
"The standard twin room we stayed in was clean and well presented but could do with a bit of modernisation in the bathroom and new mattresses for the bed. We ate at the hotel on the first evening in the lounge bar, food was on the pricey side for the quality produced. Drinks were however fairly priced. Breakfast both mornings was the same buffet affair that was well presented although there were some issues with the availability of items particularly on the Sunday morning. Hot food selection was good although the quality of the sausages and scrambled eggs was disappointing. We used the pool on one occasion, this could do with modernisation in terms of the changing room facilities (in particular the lockers) and the water was also a bit on the cool side. Overall, I would consider staying here again if improvements were made as it is in a good location and a quiet place to stay."
"We had not realised that the room had bed on mezzanine. It would be a good idea to point out that it is probably not suitable for older guest or for young children"
"Absolutely stunning place, that actually used to be owned by my family member, of whom I'm the last surviving one here, and I had no idea! I knew he was a well off local businessman, who I met lots as a little one in but I lost both of my parents so didn't get to know this, plus a previous generation fallout meant Set in such a beautiful setting, and really quiet.
We were here over the hot bank holiday and it was very busy, but still really quiet which we were shocked about. Room was clean and bathroom was nice, only issue is our 'double' bed was actually two twins pushed together, of different heights, so my partner and I were rather uncomfortable,"
"The hotel in general was very good. Just personally, we had a few issues
Our main issue is that the hotel. It's so big with long hallways and lots of steps, considering we have a child in a Pram and lots of luggage it was so exhausting to carry everything from the car park to walk across to the hotel. And then find your room.
Its hell of a long walk with steps.
When we arrived, they gave us a room on the top floor with loads of steps, and the windows barely opened. So we complained and changed the room. But the problem were, the lifts wasn't working? So we had to carry the baby. The luggage and the Pram up-and-down the stairs. It was so exhausting and very, very far to walk to the car park when we were leaving
I would say it's not toddler friendly, so any parents with buggies not recommended
The stuff are very helpful and friendly. Everything was okay.
The rooms was clean
The pool was very nice, considering they close early which we wasn't impressed with it
The food menu on the bar was limited
I hope it helps some parents"
"The hotel and facilities are absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms modern.
However, we experienced multiple issues with the disorganisation of the hotel and staff. When booking the spa the online booking system didn’t work, I tried to book over the phone and was passed from staff member to staff member and put on hold multiple times. When I finally managed to book, the confirmation email I received revealed the treatments were booked wrong. And it took another load of back and forth to correct.
We had ordered two vegan meals for lunch, one was incorrect and we waited 40 minutes for a replacement. The staff had run out of a few of the cocktails on the already limited menu and once we finally managed to order something they did have, the service was very slow.
When checking into our room, the staff at reception sent us in the wrong direction, so we ended up walking up and down the stairs and across the hotel with very heavy bags. The room was lovely and spacious, but we booked it for 4 people and the sink was blocked, meaning it took a while to drain which was not ideal for so many people using it.
The spa treatments were lovely, the staff were very talented and products used felt of good quality. The facilities were nice and clean.
Overall I would book again, as it is a beautiful hotel, but lacking organisation."
