"The room was clean and neat, but the bed was VERY uncomfortable and worn out. The food at the restaurant was amazing and all the staff was very friendly."

"House keeping was awful. Accommodation was dirty, smelly and not aired. Fire left dirty from previous guests. Washing up sponge was soooo old it was discussing and unbelievable. Breakfast food was very poor, cheap unhealthy food. Dinner option was a choice of 2 meals. No wine list, just one red wine offered. Staff were friendly, but not trained. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Setting is good. "

"We unfortunately stayed for just one night on Thursday, 23 October 2025, on our way back to Joburg, but it was a truly perfect experience, just as we had hoped. The view was absolutely stunning, and the location is beautiful, safe, and enveloped by a lovely forest. We were overjoyed to receive an upgraded room for our special occasion, celebrating my partner’s 64th birthday, which made our stay even more memorable. A heartfelt thanks to Christina and Caroline at the Front Desk, their kindness and warm welcome genuinely elevated our experience. "The only reason I'm giving this place 4* is because the road leading down is gravel and not bery well maintained. The cabin itself is a paradise! The pond is beautiful, the ducks friendly, and the fast moving creek sounds lull you to sleep. I was very pleasantly surprised at how stocked the kitchen was with cooking supplies. The staff was friendly and the whole property is well maintained. "

"This beautiful hotel is very grand and is still very classy. It is showing its age however, but we still had a wonderful experience, with my husband celebrating his birthday at dinner where the staff made his night very special. The staff are excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. "
