"Breakfast was included and was ok but not anything exciting or exceptional. Room was clean and fresh. Parking was safe and staff was excellent, very polite, courteous, & professional. Glad it didn’t have two night minimum which a lot of hotels in the area require. Wish it was dog friendly because I’d come again with our dog. "

"I booked a two-night stay at Pine Inn during my daughter’s spring break. We’re local. Our room was ready earlier than the official check-in time, and it was clean and matched what was shown on the website and in traveler photos. Parking is located across the street and is first-come, first-served, with one EV charging spot available. Unfortunately, the stay was far from restful. After returning from dinner, we experienced constant loud door slamming (the doors seem to auto-shut), along with banging and noise from surrounding rooms that continued until midnight. The most frustrating part was the next morning. We were woken up around 7:00 AM by loud work noises right outside our room. This was extremely disruptive and not something we expected. When I called the front desk, they seemed unaware and told me work was supposed to begin at 9:00 AM on the roof. However, when we left the room, we saw workers removing carpet from the stairs—not working on the roof as stated. I reported the issue again at checkout and was told other guests had complained as well. The response felt dismissive, as if there was nothing they could do. To the hotel: please inform guests in advance about any planned maintenance or early-morning work so they can plan accordingly. Guests should not have to adjust their stay around unexpected construction noise—especially when they come to Carmel for a quiet, relaxing experience."

Walking distance to all restaurants, shops, and beach (if you want to walk the hill) The bar brought some extra midnight noise but if you don’t mind that, and are a hard sleeper, or in a room not next to it, you’re probably fine. "Customer service is impeccable. Our hostess took us to our cottage and was so pleasant and nice. This property is so close to main shopping district a the ocean. It is quiet. I wish they would serve pastries in the am. "
