"I think we've stayed here 6 or 7 times now. For us, the best value in Carmel. The place is clean, comfortable rooms with gas fireplaces, really clean, has pool, nice landscaping, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Located right next to a market, where you can pick up supplies, plus local wine and beer, and a sandwich to take to the beach. Steps away from great bars, restaurants, and shops. We usually walk everywhere. Will be back in a few months."

"Cute, cozy, Carmel-style boutique hotel! Friendly staff, great location in the heart of a super special unique town. About 10-15 min walk to the big beach. The hotel and the room had a retro cool throwback vibe to the 1950s/60s ... the style of phone, the moldings, the furniture. Very cool experience. Breakfast was very good and included. My only knock if I had to pick one is there isn't an elevator, and we had 3 huge bags to carry due to our 2 week trip. The bellman helped on the way up (for a nice tip of course) but I did it myself on the way down."

"Our stay at the Stilwell Hotel was excellent. The hotel is so beautifully and thoughtfully designed. We visited over Memorial Day weekend. Once stepping onto the property we felt the calmness, away from the hustle and bustle of people hurriedly moving along the streets. The courtyard with the pizza oven was a highlight for us. The pizza was some of the best food we ate on our trip. There was plenty of seating in the courtyard with fire tables. We enjoyed the included breakfast every morning. I am very particular when it comes to cleanliness of the rooms. I found 0 faults in our particular room. It was spotless. While the rooms are very small (we had a balcony king) they matched the size of the room our friends had at another hotel down the road. Street noise was expected as you are right in the middle of town. It really wasn’t a problem once we turned some white noise on to sleep. Location was fantastic. Perfectly walkable to all the shops and restaurants. Another huge plus was the availability of parking here. With two parking lots for guests there was never a time the lot was completely full. It came as a huge relief to be able to park our large truck comfortably. Our friends at the other hotel had no availability to park their entire stay. Staff was all very helpful and friendly. Would absolutely recommend staying here!"

"Look no further if you want a reasonable price, fantastic location and very accommodating rooms this is a great place. Easily walkable to any area of Carmel by the sea. Close to restaurants, shopping, and only a couple blocks down to the most beautiful beach. Many of our friends also talk about what a great place this is. We do like the room with the fireplace. Plenty of Closet and dresser space,. The pool is very good for the late afternoon sun after all the activities. Breakfast is efficient to get you going. Parking can be a little bit iffy. Be patient there are quite a few around. There is a loading zone directly in front of the property, which is helpful."

"Beautiful rooms & located right in the downtown area with all the shopping & restaurants! My only complaint was the wi-fi signal in my room (room #1, entrance in the courtyard near the back door to Il Fornaio) was EXTREMELY weak and unusable. I ended up having to just run on my data plan while staying there. It seems like the hotel could install a signal booster to make sure all their rooms get a decent wi-fi signal."
