"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Francesca. The apartment was spotless and tastefully furnished, with everything we needed. The outside area was beautiful with amazing views. I have never been anywhere so peaceful and relaxing with such great hospitality. The hottub was empty sitting by my room, so unable to use that. There were also no staff in the afternoons or evenings when I was there, so I could not enjoy the bar aspect of the outdoor dining area. "We spent 1 night on Vulcano in the really nice Pensione La Giara. It is conveniently situated on a relatively quiet street on a little over 5 min walk from the port, and on route to the path ascending to the vulcano. We were in two neighbouring bedrooms with shared bathroom for both rooms, which was perfect for our family of four. The owner on arrival advised on the trip up the vulcano and on nearby restaurants. "I loved the actual hotel and the rooms and overall property is fantastic! The only complaint I had was the service at the bar/restaurant aren't the best. They only had 1 person who could speak English and the staff seemed generally a little unfriendly. We made jokes "this is the time of the night where we get yelled at by the staff". They always seemed like we were bothering them to ask a drink etc. I think if you are Italian you get better service. That said, overall the stay was a joy! "
