Rather grand hotel, right in the centre of Loches, which is a beautiful town. Free parking directly outside the hotel. Numerous bars, restaurants and shops within 5 minutes' walk. Excellent stop-over but leave time to explore Loches itself.

Beautiful, and cared for property. Staff were very helpful and wonderfully friendly. Pool area and rooms were a bit dated but very clean. Castle walking distance, would stay here again!

Chemillé-sur-Indrois (Indre-et-Loire) La Corroirie. Fief féodal, seigneurie et monastère des frères chartreux, à l'orée de la forêt de Loches. Ancienne dépendance de la Chartreuse du Liget, à 800 mètres de celle-ci en suivant le ruisseau du Liget vers l'aval, en dessous d'un étang, la Corroirie est lieu féodal de la Chartreuse et refuge des religieux en cas de troubles. Afin de préserver la tranquillité des pères chartreux, leur domaine de plus de 1500 hectares, était administré depuis la Corroirie par le père procureur et les frères chartreux. Son pont-levis, ses douves et ses fortifications en font une place forte. Une des portes est intacte, reconstruite au XVe siècle, elle se présente sous la forme d'une tour carrée, pourvue d'un chemin de ronde protégé par des mâchicoulis, percée d'une porte et d'une poterne autrefois défendues par des ponts-levis. La chapelle date de des XIIe-XIIIe siècles, mais elle a été surélevée au XVe siècle de deux étages, dont le premier est muni de meurtrières. Elle comprend une nef à deux travées prolongée par une abside à quatre pans. Elle conserve l'allure militaire de l'ensemble, mais est dans style Plantagenet à l'intérieur. Son unique accès se faisait par une porte percée à l'étage, la cellule se trouvant au rez-de-chaussée.
