"Our experience at Mandalay Bay was extremely disappointing, especially given the reputation and price point. It took nearly two hours just to check in and get to our room. To be fair, the woman who assisted us at the front desk was kind and professional—but the overall process was incredibly inefficient. When we finally got to our room, we were shocked to find dried urine on the toilet seat. At that point, after such a long wait, we didn’t feel we had the time or energy to call housekeeping and wait even longer, so I ended up cleaning it myself. That alone is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Be prepared to be charged extra for just about everything. There is no in-room fridge unless you specifically request a medical one, which is important to know if you’re traveling with kids and need to store snacks or drinks. The minibar is extremely sensitive—if you even move an item, you risk being charged as if you consumed it, regardless of whether you actually did. The property itself is beautiful, but the experience doesn’t match the appearance. Cleanliness was lacking, and the constant extra charges made it feel like you’re being nickel-and-dimed at every turn. As an example, a very basic poolside lunch—hot dog and fries for my husband and two kids—came to nearly $100. Unfortunately, this was not the experience we were hoping for, and we will not be returning."
