"The ship is very nice, and some of the staff are wonderful and really go above and beyond (particularly the reception staff), but unfortunately what happened at the end of my trip rather overshadowed all the positives.
I had paid around £85 to spend the night, and on top of that I had paid 14 euro to tour the ship when I arrived. To be honest it feels a bit like a tour should be included if you're a guest (especially as it is a self guided audio tour), but that's OK.
However, what I didn't realise is that unless you are on the tour right this minute, you're basically not allowed to enjoy any of the ship for the rest of your trip, which kind of defeats the purpose of staying (to enjoy the trip).
On my second day I was enjoying the ship as it is really beautiful. A few tour staff challenged me as I didn't have an audio guide but after I showed them that I did indeed have a ticket and a reservation they were OK.
I actually hadn't seen everything on the tour as the ship is huge and it's easy to get lost on a self guided tour, plus there was a wedding that day so parts of the ship were closed.
I completely get that they don't want people walking in off the street and just seeing the whole ship for free, but it seems like if you are a hotel guest AND you paid for the tour you should be free to wander and enjoy the views.
After a while a tour guide very aggressively accosted me and demanded to know what I was doing. I showed him my tour ticket and explained I was a hotel gue"
