Very friendly staff and location for chilling by the beach and pool. If you are into acrivities then diving a must at the Daymanyit Islands. Food I would say it’s lowest point although ok, lacked variety.

This is a resort that is best suited for a family get away. It is a great place to go and detox from the chaos of the normal rat race and have beautiful bonding moments with the family. We took the kids for a 5 day break and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Al Waha. The hotel has recently changed hands and the staff seem keen to make this a positive experience. The hotel was spotless. Our room had been freshly renovated, a new mattress delivered while we were there. The buffet breakfast was excellent. It’s expensive to take taxis to central Muscat, and lunch and dinner choices do feel a little limited and pricey in the resort. But we loved the setting and fresh fish at Bait Al Bahr. Special thanks to Mary Ann at Samba and Cheryl at Chow Mee. The beach and pool areas were well looked-after and we’ve never seen such attentive life-guards! Overall a wonderful stay.

We loved this property for there easy beach access, great service but most of all the kid friendly activities they had. From water park features, to the lazy river, pool slides, and kid zone where you can drop your kids off for a fun time. The beauty of the surroundings was unmatched. We enjoyed every moment of being there.

We booked three nights in a ShangriLa hotel and ended up in a Double Tree hotel which is not the same level. We were not informed of the ownership change in advance. (When we checked out we were told they changed ownership on 1st Jan 2026. The hotel is a good 4-star hotel - if this is what you are expecting you will be happy. The beach and the bay, where the hotel is located, are gorgeous - they are a taxi ride from Muscat sights.

Great value for a family vacation in Muscat

The hotel is really good and is one of the best value offers for a family vacation in Muscat. The facilities are really good in terms of the pools and beach. Food is good quality, while the kids portions could be 20% bigger compared to what is usually served in the UAE for example. Wifi works well except some social media like Telegraph is blocked.

The hotel was amazing with the best staff ever, every attention to detail was catered. However it did get boring only eating in the same restaurant every night. There were no evening activities on offer so be prepared for many early nights. On the upside - the gym and spa is fantastic.

It’s a beautiful resort but I wish I had known that Al Waha side is mainly for families. We were not expecting lots of screaming kids the entire time. I would have stayed at Al Bandhar or Al Husn. The food was excellent and the service was good but slow. Especially ordering coffee and drinks.

I really enjoyed myself. The complex is amazing. The food is always good. One problem. The flies n the mosquitoes were very bad. I had to get an allergy injection from the onsite clinic after the normal allergy meds didn’t help the pain swelling n itching. So if you come to this property make sure you bring mosquito repellent and allergy medications.

Below average experience. For the price of the rooms compared to other hotels I was disappointed. The hotel is quite dated and could do with a refurb. Stuff like having a flashing fire detector light right above the pillows disrupts sleep. The curtains were not working properly (I had to stand on a table to jiggle the mechanism at the top). Breakfast was mayhem, not enough staff seating guests, some egg stations were table delivery but others weren’t which was silly. Staff were also quite slow to clear tables that had left which attracted birds that proceeded to defecate around the seating area. The pool area was nice and quite handy if travelling as a family.
