"We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones. Other than the hotel, there are no restaurants nearby (that I know of) and dinner is an elaborate kaiseki ryori that requires...

"This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed! Amazing view of the mountains. The cottage was spacious, warm, beautifully presented and had all the amenities as described. The reception staff were so friendly and were able to help us with a few questions in English. They even gave us a mobile phone so we could call them from the cottage if required. "We took japanese style bedroom but the futons were super thin so uncomfortable. The private onsen was a bit smelly making the experience less enjoyable. For the travel to reach the place, we struggle little to go by bus. For the positive, the staff was amazing and helpful, the breakfast has lot of varieties for everyone. The room was super clean, spacious and very beautiful. Spending time with dogs around was lovely... what an amazing concept hotel."
