"This is a family run ryokan business by the Kouda family. We booked a house / villa that is with attached bath and toilets. It is a very traditional house with renovated bath & toilet and owners are friendly and accommodating . Location is not very accessible if you don't drive but they fetched us from wachi station as the ryokan is located 30 mins from local train. Would strongly recommend if you want a local ryokan stay experience."

Property manager picked us up at the local train station (Sonobe) and, at our request, stopped by the supermarket on the way there because we wanted to cook our own meals (there's no room service or restaurant in the village!).
