"My stay was amazing perfect location for everything you need to do. The people that work there are super friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the security one night we came back to the hotel and there was a guy checking door handles on the cars and I told the guy to leave and he didn’t listen so I told the front desk and the security came and by the time they came the guy was gone. "This is the 2nd time staying at the Royal Kahana. Property is a little dated but they're working on making it better. We had nice ocean view. Staff is nice, friendly and helpful. My only compaint is where as the unit looked very clean the floor was filthy. My wife's and my feet were black walking barefoot on the lamanent floor. We found some wet Swifers in the closet and mopped the floor ourself. House keeping needs to do a better job. Over all we enjoyed our stay there."

"Great place only problem is no AC and that is hard when u just took a shower and you feel like u need another one as soon as you get out they also should hav bug spray lots of ants and bugs other thing the pool was down for three days they had us go to a sister place twenty min walk away also the fridge and dishwasher are getting rusty the main issue was the no ac but great view and great price won’t be coming back to Maui but glad I did come and visit at least once "

"This was my second time staying at the Papakea. In my opinion it is better than the larger resorts because it is quiet and far more relaxing. I would have liked to have had an indoor mat to wipe my feet, as there is always going to be sand. I also feel that if a property is going to charge a cleaning fee, they should do the cleaning, not the guest. Still, I love this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to relax."
