This has to be considered one of the best spas in the world! The amenities and features are out of this world. The property is absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We loved the clean and comfortable room! We hope to be back soon.

Wir haben eine Nacht im Birkenhof verbracht und hatten eine schöne und erholsame Zeit. Dennoch haben uns einige Dinge enttäuscht. Zum Beispiel, dass der Wellness-Bereich bei Anreise erst ab 15 Uhr genutzt werden darf und bereits um 19 Uhr schließt. Die Begründung des Hotels war für uns nicht nachvollziehbar, da es hieß, dass der Bereich sonst zu überfüllt wäre und keinen Erholungsfaktor für die Gäste hätte. Jedoch konnten wir auch nach 15 Uhr gerade so noch zwei Liegen ergattern. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass der Wellness Bereich für die Größe des Hotels ein wenig zu klein ist. Ein späterer Check-Out wurde uns angeboten, allerdings hätte dies zusätzlich 40€ pro Person gekostet. Das Hotelzimmer war etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Dusche komplett verstopft. Am nächsten Morgen gegen 9 Uhr wurde mit voller Wucht gegen unsere Tür geklopft und jemand hat guten Morgen gerufen. Kulinarisch war dafür einiges geboten. Nichtsdestotrotz hat es uns gefallen, aber für eine Nacht hat es sich für unsere Absichten nicht ganz gelohnt…

Zimmer etwas altbacken, leider kein warmer Innenpool Schwimmbecken innen und Whirlpool innen Max 31 Grad - nix zum verweilen - Pools außen 32 und 40 Grad sehr gut aber bei schlechtem Wetter leider nicht benutzbar da nicht Überdacht - leider wurde es uns am Abreisetag nicht ermöglicht noch 2 Std länger ohne Aufpreis zu bleiben ( hätten einen Anschlusstermin gehabt das Zimmer hätten wir selbstverständlich geräumt nur bis 13:30 den Badebereich benutzen ) sehr schade für ein 5 Sterne Hotel Essen sehr lecker

Absolute Empfehlung!

Wundervoller Aufenthalt, sehr freundliches Personal, sowohl Frühstück, Mittagssnack als auch 5-Gang-Abend-Menü sehr sehr lecker und auch an Vegetarier wird gedacht. Das gesamte Haus inkl. Wellnessbereich ist mit Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Die Anwendungen im Betula Spa waren klasse - vor allem Hilde (hoffe, ich habe den Namen richtig verstanden). Wir sind tiefenentspannt und glücklich abgereist und kommen auf jeden Fall sehr gerne wieder!!
