"We really liked this place and would definitely stay here again! We specifically searched for a modern, clean hotel at a reasonable price that also offered free on-site parking for our trip to NYC. Since we were renting a car, the parking situation was a major factor for us, and we quickly found that almost none of the surrounding hotels in Long Island City offered free parking. If they did have parking, it was usually $25–$35 per night and sometimes located off-site several blocks away. The LY Hotel checked every box for us, and we actually enjoyed our stay enough that we extended it from one night to two. The rooms were modern, spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Our first night by chance, was in a handicap-accessible room, which had a noticeably larger bathroom than the standard room we stayed in the second night. The standard bathroom was definitely on the smaller side, so larger guests may find it a bit tight. On a minor note, there were no microwaves in the rooms although I beleive one was available to guests in the lobby and there were no luggage stands in the rooms which are always helpful. What really stood out, though, was how friendly and accommodating the staff was throughout our stay. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Overall, the LY Hotel turned out to be an excellent choice for our trip. For the price, cleanliness, free parking, and overall experience, we honestly felt it was one of the best values in the area."

"The Opera House Hotel is a gem in the south Bronx. Check in was very smooth and we were given a sheet explaining how everything "works" at the hotel. I can't emphasize enough how clean the property was. I couldn't say the same for the sidewalks outside, but inside was very impressive. Even the elevators and the stairwells were spotless. We thought the elevator was a bit sluggish, but got the job done. The room was also very clean and tidy. We thought the bulbs in the lamps on either side of the bed were fairly dim, but we preferred them to the overhead light. One of the switches was very loose and you had to hold the bulb still to turn the switch. Likewise, the desklamp had no bulb in it. Had we spent more time in the room we would have probably asked about a new bulb for that fixture. Unlike most hotels we've stayed at, there were no complimentary containers of shampoo or lotion. The shower in the bathroom was very modern and clean. There were soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower. The closet in the room was nice and big, with hangers, but there was no hair dryer or iron/ironing board in the room. The bed was comfortable but the laarge pillows were fairly solid and not the most comfortable to us. We felt it was fairly warm in the room, even though outside temps were in the 50s and 60s. We ended up running the AC to keep the room comfortable. We were happy with our stay and will probably stay there again on our next visit to our son's family."

"Very impressed by this hotel! Super clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing and very helpful! We felt comfortable walking around outside the hotel and it has lots of access to public transportation both bus and subway. I would love to stay here again on our next visit to the area!"

"Room was clean but elevator seemed old and made sounds. Also the floor in the breakfast area was not clean. They needed more staff. While the staff were very pleasant, I had a billing issue as they couldn't see that I paid for my room via Orbitz and I was accidentally charged again for my stay. Took some time to investigate the matter. "

"Upon entering my reserved room, I was met with a cigarette odor, very unpleasant. Room key gave difficulty resulting in having to ask staff to reprogram the key several times. "
