Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Overall a pretty mid stay. Would not come back. Our room key stopped working every day (which required trips back to the front desk for reconnection). Breakfast was not impressive (we skipped it every day) and in general the hotel is run down. The room was pleasant and fairly clean. Staff was polite and kind but seemed overwhelmed at times.
Room was ok but there were no extra blankets and the heating did not work sufficiently meaning none of had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was ok but calling it a full continental breakfast is a bit misleading. Hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful
Pet friendly, staff was amazing, great stay for New York at a great price. My service dogs were slightly overstimulated for New York, which I did not anticipate, being able to take them back to the room with myself and the other person in need of a service animal and get rest and decompress was so valued at this hotel. Great location! Tons of little restaurants across and down the block. Empire State building is around the corner. A few subway entrances were very close. 10/10 recommend this hotel. We had 3 rooms total for our group.
Hotel Hayden is in serious need of renovations. WiFi was slow and spotty, carpets worn, closet doors missing, drawers broken, mini fridge iced over, My room was broiling hot in Spring (despite having the AC on) and my friend's was freezing (despite having the heat on) and the elevator had a mind of it's own. The best things I can say are that the staff was really nice and the rooms were pretty clean.
So you’re definitely just paying for convenience for this place. Good location for tourists and so it’s ok for having a bed to come back to. The pillows are in dire need of replacement, all the fluff is balled up and incredibly uncomfortable. The air conditioning was useless, our room became a hot box and it was cooler in the hallway because you can’t open the windows.
The “breakfast” is simply a few supermarket pastries. And the gym is a very small room in the basement with a couple treadmills and a bike, barely any space.
Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Had a little problem with the heat but the front desk staff were fabulous in response and went above and beyond to correct. Easy access to subway and nearby breakfast options were great. Overall a great
Midtown spot and a great value.
The staff was courteous. But the bed was very uncomfortable, we didn’t have full size pillows and the bathroom shower glass was so small the water would go out all over the floor. The complimentary breakfast was just pastries. It’s a beautiful place and location.
The front desk and staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and the location is great, especially if you are taking the train from Penn station.
Love this hotel, the staff was amazing and the room and bathroom were more than I expected. The bathroom was well stocked, and the bed was very comfortable.
The room was decent and the staff are friendly. The only one negative about is that i was shocked that there is a facility fee of $42.50 that the staff told me when i checked out. It was never mentioned that there is a facility fee??? I think i was robbed it was a false ad on their part. And what is a facility fee?
The room was basic, but clean. The beds seemed very old and very broken in. Pillows were not comfortable, woke up every morning with a stiff neck. The amenities were very basic. No vending machine, no place to get a drink of any kind. The Continental breakfast consisted of bagels or muffins and yogurt. The staff was very friendly. Close to MSG, but it felt like you were on the edge of the bad part of the city. I definitely wouldn't let my wife or children out alone there at night.
