Our room, a “family room” was great! Lots of space. Bathroom is quite small though. The wine happy hour was really fun and had great drinks and snacks. It was nice to meet new people. The candy closet brought me back to being a kid. All of the staff were friendly. Great hotel! We’ll be back.

Trip for 2 for overnight at The George to visit family in the area. Very comfortable and cozy accommodations. Small boutique hotel that was not fully occupied during our stay made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. Relaxing communal sitting room with fireplace. Comfortable bed. European breakfast. This was a very charming and hospitable hotel. It was quaint and cozy. The lobby area by the fireplace was very inviting. The rooms were clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was varied with enough to start our day with. Love that candy closet! Ice cream treats were a nice touch as well. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The building itself is just cool. The rooms are nice and very clean. It’s historical and modern with a touch of whimsy. Through the lobby are portraits of famous George’s. All the the rooms have names and also feature portraits of famous people with that name. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was awesome and there was a complimentary candy bar. Overall would totally stay again if I were in that area. It is located a few minutes away from downtown so we ubered because parking is not easy.

The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Wine in the evening in the library was relaxing and afforded time to chat and meet new people while waiting for my daughter to arrive. Walkable dining options, the candy closet, the ice cream fridge and extended breakfast hours (7-11) all created more of a visit feel than a standard stay.

My wife and I loved this place and we will definitely be staying there again anytime we come back to NJ. We used to live in Bloomfield NJ but now we live in Southern California, and I had to get a place for a work trip. We stayed here one night in “Steve” and one night later we came back and stayed in “Duke,” which was our favorite of the two. Super clean, upscale, and the free wine at 5pm was a nice treat. Parking was easy, and we highly recommend this spot.
