"A truly exceptional place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with a lovely balcony, and the staff were very friendly. Fresh towels and toiletries were attentively refilled on the second day even without us requesting. The breakfast was delicious too, there were beautiful flowers and trees in the garden behind the restaurant. Both our baby and our dog enjoyed their time there."

"Spacious room and bathroom (located in converted stables behind the pub) with TV and plentiful tea/coffee supplies. Wifi connection a bit limited in the room, but excellent in the pub itself. Friendly staff."

"Robert greeted us at the door and was friendly. The room we were shown to was perfect, bed was comfortable and amenities clean and tidy. The location of Kirkgate House was great, in the middle of the town with bars and restaurants within a couple minutes walk. Would recommend and if we visit Knaresborough again, definitely would stay."

"Stayed as solo traveller for 2 nights. Single room small but had all the facilities required and was spotlessly clean and warm, and ideally positioned just around the corner from the town centre. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice. Overall a nice stay (room 12) in a good budget single, with lovely and helpful host. Would happily stay again. (And thanks for the mince pies!!) . "

"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

"Newly renovated feeling. Great bed, pillows, bedding, shower and towels. Kitchen was fully equipped but we went for a walk to get food and drinks to soak up the atmosphere. "
