I messaged the hotel staff during the window of time necessary to cancel without late-cancellation fees, however the staff did not respond to me until after that window had passed, and would not budge on their policy of charging me for the entire stay. "This was a pleasant hotel once we found it! If you put in Simonosekiosakaya into any maps or uber app to get a taxi it does not recognise it. The name of the hotel is Osakaya so please use that when searching- although that also did not work on some apps so we had to find it on the map ourselves. This spoilt our first day and we wasted nearly an hour! Lovely views from our spacious room"

"This is a fantastic hotel. Great front desk staff, great onsen, and a really good location right by Kumamoto station. From here you can catch the tram into the city centre."

"We booked this hotel just for a short stay, we expecting low quality but turns out the hotel are fairly good. Rooms are big and clean, The hotel is stylish, with free comic for read in room. Breakfast are free, and with variety of choice, and the quality are above average, Staff are very friendly. Overall I am surprised with this high quality of room as their friendly room price."
