"Wataya = WOW! From the second we arrive... I'm so happy Aaron chose this place. The staff is a family that has owned and operated this wonderful house for 7 generations! We chill in the onsen chatting loudly as we are the only guests today, return to the room to relax looking at the garden during twilight. Dinner is served! We did a poor job at informing them of my friend's restricted diet... The proprieter is so generous! She grabs a frozen pizza from her home to feed my buddy... I'm stuffed by...

Meantime you have to know that the property is not staffed after 7 PM or 8 PM and you have to check in by unlocking the key code provided by the owner. Still it was very efficient."

"A beautiful place and a real honour to stay here as a westerner. Robes and amenities were provided and the baths were excellent including an outdoor area. Very helpful and friendly staff made us feel welcomed. There was even a mini stamp rally around the building which was great for us and our teen child to explore. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area. "
