The Cedars Inn by Greene King Inns
6/10 Okay
"Well, almost as sticky as the last time I stayed. The floor & tables in the conservatory were all quite sticky, you had to peel the paper napkin from the table. Seriously, what on earth are you doing? I highlighted this last year, yet nothing's changed. The hair dryer in the room was just as gross as last year too. After using it, one hand only, you had to go and wash your hands thoroughly in the bathroom. This issue was also highlighted last year when I stayed. How hard is it to clean the hairdryer handle from time to time. I'm guessing no-one has bothered to clean them thoroughly for months, if ever. Lamp shades in the rooms. Hideous wooden things that are damaged & collect dust. Get rid of them & move on. I only ate in the restaurant once. My burger was bloody in the middle & swiftly returned to the staff. A replacement burger was provided that was damn near cremated. It's a burger. They are genuinely not difficult to cook correctly. I found somewhere else to eat on the second night. The breakfast seemed poorer quality. 'Cumberland' sausages you said, cheap sausages over spiced to the point of being inedible says I!. The food, and the quality of cooking, has definitely deteriorated since last year. Will I return? Well, unfortunately, it's perfectly placed for an annual event. Maybe I'll just bring some cleaning materials & eat elsewhere."

Kentisbury Grange
8/10 Good
"We stayed one night in one of the Garden Suites. However we were disappointed to find the buildings and grounds dirty and not maintained very well. Trees required trimming and overgrown areas needed clearing as they were attracting a lot of flies and midgies. The room itself was ok, bed was comfy and water was hot, however the overall appearance of the walls and ceiling was really tired compared to the images promoted. The room also wasn't particularly clean with hair, mould and dirt attached to skirting boards. The floor quite obviously hadn't been hoovered in a while with lots of bits lying around. There was no fan or air con, and you didn't really want the doors open due to the insects flying around. It would have been unbearable in 20+ heat. Having said that the restaurant had a nice array of food options, and the food was delicious and well priced. Service was a little slow but actually made for a nice evening (we had to talk to one another!) Breakfast was included and again was tasty with a good selection of choice. Some fruit options would have been nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but, in order for us to book a return visit, cleanliness and maintenance standards would need to be improved."

The Dilkhusa Grand Hotel By Compass Hospitality
4/10 Poor
"Good location, but that is as far as the positives go. Checked out a day early. Hotel is very poorly maintained. Windows that rattle, extractors fans that don't work, mould in the shower, damp and peeling ceilings, all the floor boards are creaking, very warm carpets. The hotel is a good size and has a lot of potential, but is in dire need of renovation."

The Imperial Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My wife and I are active octogenarians. This is an excellent hotel for us, for a short break. The staff are genuinely friendly and the decor comfortably slightly old fashioned or traditional. Family group of hotels, well run. Parking adequate but note to reserve if you have blue badge. Food is excellent and breakfasts are brilliant, the menu extensive. This nice hotel is a favourite with us more mature Devonians. Enjoy! Ps. Very clean and ensuite bathroom very good."

The Royal & Fortescue
10/10 Excellent
"Overall a very good experience with this hotel, bar and restaurant were excellent and not overpriced. Would definitely stay there again"

The George
10/10 Excellent
"The George combines a beautiful old building with clean, fresh interiors which are comfortable and thoughtfully planned - plenty of storage and hanging space, plenty of space in the bathroom for damp towels etc. I visit annually and it's a pleasure to see the same staff each year I visit! A comfy bed with padded headboard (ideal for reading), Smart TV and decent wifi add to the convenience. My room overlooked South Molton's main street but the double-glazing is so effective there was no noise. Breakfast is delicious and service is prompt and friendly. Some of the rooms have a couple of steep steps up to them so those with mobility issues might want to let the hotel know so they can allocate rooms accordingly."

Rising Sun Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Wunderschön renovierte Zimmer in einem alten, typischen Haus. Sehr gutes Essen im Restaurant, top Frühstück."

The Mole Resort - Lodges
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely place to stay - really in amongst nature. Felt everything was 5* and catered for family and pets - the swimming pool steam and sauna are a bit tired and could do with a facelift - but still very usable !"

The Bath Hotel Lynmouth
8/10 Good
"Limited for what to do. Half the shops had not opened for the season. Very good area if you are a serious walker, the views are breathtaking. Eating out is disappointing, few restaurants and all average."
