"This historic Fred Harvey property was clean and attractive. It was renovated and reopened in 2019. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and anticipated and fulfilled our every need. We’ve stayed here several times in the past and will stay here again, highly recommend. "

"This was one of the cleanest, nicest hotels in a small town that I have ever stayed in. I travel to Texas frequently and this will be my stop every time. The staff was amazing, hotel impeccably clean and the breakfast was not like any ordinary complimentary breakfast. All the normal eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes PLUS tortillas, salsa, cheese, red and green chili to make a breakfast tacos. Biscuits and gravy and more!"

"GREAT historic hotel. Restoration A+. Character around every corner. Staff was very good. Only complete was restaurant closed for breakfast on Monday, although found a good local place about a block away. Only regret is we didn’t have time for another night, otherwise would have spent more time taking in the history. Would stay again on a flash. "

"We couldn't believe how spacious this apartment was! Kristi, the manager, communicated with us before and during our stay, and even had a welcome basket with goodies waiting for us in the kitchen. Our unit had a great living room, full kitchen, bedroom with two big beds, and pull-out sofa. And TWO full bathrooms. After a long day of hiking, it was just perfect for the three of us. We fully recommend High Plains Lodge!"

"The hotel is currently under major construction! Flooring was being installed in the lobby during our stay and the property felt like a job site. Guests should be notified of renovations before booking. The bathrooms downstairs near lobby were out of order. The breakfast drinks were hot. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough as it felt like we were dancing around a job site. "

"The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Sean at the front desk was very friendly. Monica did an amazing job preparing the breakfast! The food was hot and kept full. Great selection for breakfast. "

"Great for a quick overnight stop slong the road, very comfortable. Train tracks nearby so not quiet all night long. Didn't bother too me too much."
