The Hog's Head Inn - The Inn Collection Group
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent location. Even though it’s right by a busy road we couldn’t hear anything and slept very well. Nicely done out, excellent breakfast."

Holiday Inn Newcastle - Gosforth Park by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Great hotel.
Pleasant and helpful staff.
Clean and spacious rooms.
Lovely breakfast. "

Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club
8/10 Good
"Pros - The building and grounds are beautiful. Staff are very friendly and service was efficient. Rooms clean, and spacious with good heating.
Cons - Room in general just requires updating. Wardrobe door broken supposed to slide but you have to lift it to move it and it was heavy. A lot of the channels on the TV didn’t work either.
We were supposed to get a king but got two singles pushed together which creates an awkward dip in the middle.
Not enough loungers or even seats in the spa area. People were turning up with literally nowhere left to sit and we couldn’t get a lounger one of the days we were there.
Steam room and sauna broken during our stay (sauna got fixed late on the second afternoon of a two night stay)."

Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort
6/10 Okay
"Terrible sleep, which whilst guest behaviour is not the hotels fault, the duration it took to deal with the situation was possibky far more drawn out than it should have been. A guest domestic took place in the room next door just before 1am, took over 90 mins for the guest to be removed from the hotel and because of being on the ground floor, this guest was banging on the windows of the room once he was outside.
Towel rail in the room didn't work which was disappointing as had wet swimwear from the Spa to dry and meant the bathroom was quite cold.
Food in restaurant was average and the premium dishes were remarkably small portioned - the duck stated Duck breast, but was merely a slither of a duck breast.
The dining credit I didnt feel was clear that couldn't be used towards drinks (food only) so financially was worse off when paying the remainder of the bill.
All points raised at check-out but reception staff didn't seem to interested, an quick sorry about that, and more concerned about being able to start checking out the next guest.
I wouldn't return nor recommend a stay.
Gave 3* as the guest behaviour isnt the fault of the hotel and overall stay adequate.

Clean room"

Bailiffgate Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful hotel which is clearly 5 star. The service by all staff was exemplary! The standard courtyard room was fabulous with a large comfortable bed. It had everything you needed and the bathroom and shower were high quality. The only disappointment was we were only there for one night!"

The Bamburgh Castle Inn - The Inn Collection Group
6/10 Okay
"Staff amazing! Bed and pillows not very comfortable, but great shower pressure.
Little disappointing that we couldn't get a table for dinner as a music quizz night was on."

The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate
8/10 Good
"Charming, cosy room which was lovely and clean. Bed not very comfortable, couldn’t sleep due to heat of room and sound of air conditioning machine on roof outside our window. Having stayed three times before I found the last bed the same but the room also lovely and not noisy as this one was. Dinner amazing, thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were polite but no smiles from all but one staff member. Breakfast was very nice had eggs florentine but husband found full breakfast a bit dry. Breakfast staff were lovely and very upbeat/helpful. "
