Very nice motel which is on two floors with the bedroom upstairs with a lounge and bathroom down stairs. The owner and his dog were very friendly. It also had a communal hot tube. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance (15min).

The bedroom and tv are upstairs, the bathroom downstairs. There was no heating to use at night when it was cold, there are no extractor fans and the place smelt mouldy, in fact I could see mould above the shower. There is also evidence of water leaking out of the shower as the skiting boards are swollen in places.

Staff were friendly and really helpful. Everything was clean. Place is just a bit tired and could do with a refresh.
The only problem for us was that the bed was upstairs and the toilet downstairs. This is apparently the setup in all the rooms. My wife has difficulty with stairs. The venue is clean and the staff friendly
The owners were fantastic. They were very friendly and helpful. It felt like we were at a bed and breakfast. The location was a 30 minute drive to the areas of the park that we visited. That was just fine for us because we liked the town of Ohakune better than the places where closer motels were located. The room was two story, which was a little funky, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast was excellent. There isn't much in the way of extra facilities but was not an issue for us. There was no AC but we were not there during the heat of the day and the room cooled down at night. We were not expecting a bed and breakfast type of environment but the owners made our stay there quite enjoyable.

This was really a hotel specializing in winter activities. The owner/staff were very friendly and helpful with information about the area. The room itself was small with little room to move around. The sitting area was on the bottom floor with the bedroom upstairs. Not the best set up.
Nice and quiet even close to the main road.
The room has everything we needed for our short stay.

One of the bath towels had stains on them. That was the only complaint.

Welcoming stay
Chris the owner greeted us with a warm welcome and was very helpful with providing us with local recommendations. I had emailed him for advice on he Tongariro Crossing ahead of our stay and he replied very promptly with good advice. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. I had issues connecting with the wifi which was the only issue we had with the hotel. Would still recommend staying here.

Nice property, plenty of space for children
We stayed in a separate house which didn't really seem part of a " boutique hotel experience" , however it did provide plenty of space for our 3 grandchildren. Shower needed a good scrub and there were cobwebs everywhere. Whenever you walked over to the hotel you were met at the door by the owners barking dog and didn't feel as if you could enjoy the so called lounge area.
We stayed for one night and it was great. Warm welcome and then a warm and cosy room with excellent facilities. It was great to unwind after a cold day with a hot bath and then a wine looking out over the landscaped area outside. Quiet and peaceful.
Super cute rooms. Ours had a staircase with a living room. Little spa room that would be nice after a long hike or ski. Owner was really nice and came and talked to us, got to know us and about our trip. Loved the place!
