"Stayed four nights for the New Orleans Book Festival. Easy one mile walk to Tulane campus. Charming mid century decor that tries to make up for the concrete block. Unheated swimming pool. Decent lobby coffee. Creaky elevator and leaky shower. View of hospital parking garage from balcony and loud industrial noises. Two blocks to restaurants and shops on Freret (try The Husky and Humble Bagel). Good choice if you prefer a neighborhood hotel, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. "

"No indication that it’s an outdoor motel on the website. No help from desk check in on where you have to go (clear across a courtyard to another building), hard bed, paper thin walls, dusky smell, overall old/tired motel feeling. "Pool was always closed when we'd have been able to use it but it didn't look super clean. Room was great and clean. Shower faucet made loud squealing noise while using it. One elevator was super slow. Overall, great bargain and super clean room otherwise. "
