This was the most wonderful stay in an elegant hotel along the Croatian Riviera. Our room was sumptuous and luxurious, tastefully decorated with a stunning view over the bay. We had a balcony where we could sit and take in the view, the bed was very comfortable indeed and we had all the provisions we needed, including bathrobes and slippers for the lovely pool and spa. We had a friendly welcome on arrival and we could park our car on a meter outside which was free after 8pm. The breakfast was unbelievable! So much choice, very good quality food, in a large spacious setting with white linen tablecloths and elegant satin curtains. The whole experience was truly amazing, we loved every minute of it!

Lovely 150 year old historic hotel in the heart of the Opatija Riviera. The owners appear to be slowly renovating the place so that's good. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Staff are absolutely amazing and helpful. And the sea water pool (yes that's seawater!!) is awesome. Would definitely stay here again.

I highly recommend this hotel. The view from our window was stunning, the breakfast buffet was out of this world. The Wellness Resort was heavinly. The salt water pool was wonderful and the sauna and steam room was great. Very elegant hotel. Friendly staff.

Wow the views from the balcony room were totally amazing! Hotel is very well situated right on the promenade and a friendly staff offered to park car at an off site location ! Comfortable and well maintained rooms . Didn't use pool and sauna but are available! Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was good ! Highly recommend!

Great location - across the street from the sea

The lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of good suggestions. The room was nice and clean. A little outdated (carpet needs to be replaced). The location was perfect being right across from the sea.

This was once a lovely hotel. It is in need of a paint job and new carpet throughout. The breakfast and staff working the breakfast were very good. The dining room and terrace were beautiful. Minor repairs were needed in our room including the shower doors and closet doors not closing properly. The person on the front desk at check in was not welcoming however after that other front desk staff were very good.

Grand Dame

We were on the 5th floor so it was formerly the servants floor with lower ceilings and very low dormers that we kept bumping our heads on. It was a ‘deluxe’ room so not sure why. The carpet in the hall there was very dirty by the elevator. The room was clean. Beautiful old hotel. Asked for where to get lunch when we arrived and were directed to a restaurant off property that didn’t exist. Great buffet breakfast.

Not ideal for family travel

So, this hotel was about half the price of the hotel right next door. I am not exactly sure what the differences were because if this hotel needed some interior updates, those hotels definitely need exterior upgrades! The hotel was understaffed and although it had all the features of a great hotel, nothing was remarkable. Definitely request a room on the upper floors because level 1 was filled with bass from the disco until midnight, plus smokers outside the window. Rooms are NOT soundproof from the outside. However, we didn’t hear any interior hotel noises at all.
