The crazy things travelers do... They country-hop, island-hop and even prefecture-hop!!!

U see, I was on a mission since last year to complete all the 47 prefectures of Japan. This trip I was hopping in the last 3 of the 4 left on my list. All because my niece asked me a simple question! How many prefectures have u visited in Japan?

I started counting and unbeknownst to me I have actually completed 3/4 of them without me keeping track! Well, let's just say I started young... My first time to Japan was when I was 11! But I ended up many times to major cities and attractions.

Last year, I began to consciously visit areas I have never been to which took me to some prefecture like Ibaraki, Tottori and Shiga. It wasn't hard, just some special careful planning and a JR pass. That translates to some 7 visits in 9 months of 2015! A first for me. My record in the past was around 4 visits to Japan per year. Wasn't difficult as I could stopover each time I fly to Canada or US.

But last year was exceptional. And this year I had the first one spanning from Dec to Jan which took me to Fukui in early January. In Feb just I visited Tokushima, Kochi and Shimane. So, 1 final prefecture which is Miyazaki which I hope I will step foot on v soon!!!

That completes Japan. I completed China in 2011. Next, USA! Another 26 states!

So, you see... I am kinda crazy traveling trying to make sense of life and seeing as much of the planet and meeting as many people before I have to leave it!!!
