"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "

"Overall our stay was very pleasant. The entrance and reception through to the bar area looked refreshed and inviting. However, once up the stairs all the floorboards creaked in the corridor and rooms, really reflecting the age of the premises. Our bathroom looked like some maintenance had been carried out but the standard of finish was below par. However, this could be due to pending refurbishment but not reflective of a longer term solution. The breakfast arrangements on the morning of our departure seemed a bit chaotic, maybe because many guests all arrived in the same 30 minute window, putting pressure on the staff. Nevertheless, we found all the staff very friendly and helpful during our stay."
