"After check in we were advised that we were in “The Residence” section of the hotel. Upon entering we were greeted by filthy carpeted stairs leading up to our room. On opening the door we were then met by a vile smell…the room had clearly not been used/aired for some time. The carpet was covered in stains, the bed frame fabric was ripped, a freestanding chair was also covered in stains. All this before inspecting the bathroom….disgustingly dirty. Shower door was thick with dirt & limescale,...

"not a good sleep the first night due to a machine in the courtyard for freezing purposes. apparently the normal freezer had broken. however after we complained we were moved to another room which was a lot better in fact an upgrade on our previous room hopefully the university of cambridge will rectify this in the not to distant future. the staff were excellent"

"Great, basic place to stay. I have only ever stayed one night. The gardens are lovely and I particularly like that you can walk to the Plough through the fields (and back via road if dark). Also Blue Diamond garden centre 5 min walk away too. Cambridge park and ride 5 mins in other direction. No breakfast available at Hotel any more. Check in at 4.00pm perhaps the only negative."

We asked for an additional fan and they refused our request. After asking again in 24 hours time they gave us one more fan. There are numerous public transport facilities with it being located right next to a train station with convenient connections to london and the north. The hotel is situated in a quiet modernised area and the parking is safe and in plentiful availability. "Amenities: Broken but addressed by maintenance the following morning: toilet seat, refrigerator. Room annoyances: Fire alarm at 6:50 AM and 11:52AM, air conditioning not working.
