Would not return to the Scent of Green Papaya resort in Bohol after a poor experience led to us cutting our multi night stay short after just one night.
Firstly we found cockroaches in the bedroom, along with other insects in the bed including a silverfish which crawled out from under the pillow. At breakfast we also found a cockroach under the glass in the table we were sat at.
The bathroom was also dirty, with behind the sink very grimy and the bottom of the shower looking like it hadn't been scrubbed in a while. Also old shower parts had been left in the corner under the sink.
Our sleep for our only night was the worst night's sleep we had had in years, with chickens and dogs in the neighbouring property making constant noise and the thin windows doing little to stop the sound. The curtains are also paper thin and blocked no light from neighbouring buildings or the resort area below.
Finally, while the pool area looks like it has had a recent freshen up, the rooms are very dated and in major need of an upgrade. This included balcony doors which wouldn't lock.
While we complained to the hotel and were offered a room clean or alternative rooms, we could not stay there another night due to the very sub par accommodation and experience compared to what was offered. The hotel have since refused a refund through Expedia. I would not recommend staying here.
