Old world French ambience and extraordinary service. Small hotel with truly exceptional staff, quiet, the aroma of the wood burning fireplace permeates the common areas in winter, while the interior courtyard provides solace in the summer. My fave in Paris for years.

Wonderful retreat in Paris

I have stayed in more tan 10 hotels in Paris, trying them all is "my thing" and I adored this charming hotel with its cozy spaces, spacious rooms and the lovely garden and atrium room. So well located in a clam neighborhood with great access to restaurants, Boulanegerie and cafes. I would absolutely stay here again.

A Perfect Paris Ending

Our stay at Hotel de l'Abbaye was at the end of a two stay in Paris. It was a perfect way to end our trip. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff, made to feel welcome and treated so kindly. Our very need was met. We loved sitting in the lobby which was more like a home, for breakfast or drinks in the evening. I hope to stay there again.

This is a gorgeous old hotel in a beautiful part of Paris. It is close to dining, shopping, Luxembourg Gardens, st Sulpice and so much more. It is quintessentially French in its style and it’s approach. The breakfast was delicious and so fresh, from freshly squeezed juices to fresh fruit salad. The interior of the rooms is a little tired, but this can be overlooked in favour of the location of this delightful hotel. The staff in the bar and breakfast area were unbelievably helpful, and so kind. We loved the garden, and the quiet stillness of the hotel within such a dynamic city.

Comfortable and beautifully furnished public spaces. The courtyard garden cafe was delightful. The staff were very helpful and attentive too. Our guest room was small, which is typical of Paris. There were two of us, but there was no good place to store a 2nd suitcase. But we made it work. The bathroom had a soaking tub, a nice perk. But it was narrow and deep and slippery. There were no grab bars, so it was nearly impossible to get out of it. My husband had to help pull me up. A grab bar would be very helpful, plus enhance safety.

Not worth the money.

The bed was old and caved in and uncomfortable. Our room didn’t look nice like on the website. We had a small window, not a normal sized one and a poor view. The breakfast outdoor terrace was nice and so was the salon room in the lobby. But for the price they charge, I expected a more updated room, bathroom and bed and larger room. They never asked how our stay was when we checked out.

I had stayed at this hotel 22 years before and had such fond memories I always dreamt of returning. Unfortunately this time the room was awful. When we arrived super jet lagged I dutifully followed the hotel staff to a ground floor room. It took awhile to realize that it was beside the public toilet for the restaurant (used by hotel guests mostly) and the hallway outside of our room had from time to time during the day a very bad odor. I wanted to change the room but my husband did not want to endure the stress. We had made the reservation about six months before so I wonder why we were blessed with what surely must be the worst room in the hotel. It was so unpleasant that I could never stay there again. So sad.

Great location in the 6th ARR. Quiet area but smaller rooms. Took off one star for no standing shower. Had to hunker down in bathtub using hand held shower faucet. Diptique shampoo and soap was a plus, as were bathrobes and slippers.

Great area to stay close to tons of restaurants and shopping streets. About 20 minute walk to Louvre area., 30 minute walk to Notre Dame. Cute boutique hotel but could use some refreshing. We opted for a king bed on Expedia for 3 nights/ 2 rooms but were given a double bed. We complained about this and were switched to king the next two nights. We will be pursuing a refund for the difference of the first night stay with Expedia.
