"Nice place but needs some updating (old carpets, new paint job, no USB charging stations, etc.) and some repairs (bathroom pocket rolling doors don't lock). Otherwise, it is a decent place to stay over. Bed mattresses were kind of too soft and I prefer more sturdy firm mattresses. I woke up with back pain because of this. I did not take advantage of the free breakfast so I can't make a judgement."
"When we arrived all the electrical power was off. Storms had downed power lines in the area. It could have been a disaster for us. The staff went above and beyond their normal duties to get us in our room. The power was to be on in a few hours. Went went site seeing of the area. When we came back the power was on. Thank goodness.
We love the resort. I believe it opened in 1952 but it look like it opened in 2015. It was fully renovated and super clean. Food for breakfast was very good and dinner was great."
"DO NOT STAY HERE. This was one of the weirdest hotel experiences I've ever had. After driving 8 hours to drop our oldest child off for college, we were hoping for a comfortable stay, but instead felt watched and inconvenienced the entire time. At check-in, I clearly stated how many people were staying, yet I was only given one key card. When I requested a second, the first was deactivated without anyone telling me. Neither exterior door key access point worked properly. The pool situation was even stranger—it required access from the manager, and once inside there was only one exit. When I asked to use the pool, the manager again questioned how many people were with me, even though it was the same children I checked in with. All of the lobby bathrooms were marked out of order. At breakfast, my husband tried to bring me something from the complimentary breakfast, but was told food could not leave the breakfast area, and the manager reportedly came out to monitor guests. Throughout our stay, the staff constantly hovered and seemed more focused on watching guests than providing hospitality. Overall, the experience was uncomfortable, awkward, and disappointing. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others."
"Waited 30 minutes for staff to check in no one came so we left to go eat dinner. Came back and waited 5 minutes for staff to come out of office to check in. Pool was closed ( one reason we booked). Breakfast was ok. Muffins were hard, eggs bland so breakfast was ok. Shower pressure sucked! Room was nice and comfortable but got hot in middle of night."
"I understand it is an older hotel but the conditions of the rooms are terrible .You walk in and it smells like smoke and mildew .Very old and dirty chairs a person wouldn’t dare sit in .The bed had springs in the mattress not comfortable at all .Bathroom was dirty , found a dead roach on the floor , old shampoo and soap and a floor towel in the tub .The wallpaper by the door had been wet and was peeling down , curtains were very old and yellowed from smoke .Only positive was location .Will not be staying here again"
