"We loved staying here. The place was clean, nice and loved having a fun private walk to the beach. The food was really good and we ended up eating there every night. Everyone was so kind and the breakfast food was great also. I did get a facial and I would not say it was worth half off at $70. I would recommend when you have someone paying and laying there with stuff on their face maybe massage their hands, feet or shoulders. Make it feel a little more worth the money. Just a tip of what a facial in America would be. While produce is sitting on your face your hands or feet are rubbed with lotion. Other then that everything was still great."

"We loved our stay at Marala. The view was amazing, food was great, and we saw capuchin monkeys more than once. My son was in love with the dessert crepes and I got the mango avocado ceviche almost every night of our stay because it was so, so good. Breakfast was also great. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough space anywhere to hang towels and swimsuits to dry! Also, the area is kind of lacking in activities and entertainment other than visiting the beach. We didn't find any local food that was particularly great either (the hotel restaurant's food *is* great but a bit on the pricy side). That said, you won't be sad about a stay here! Just plan to spend most of your time on the property. The view from the pool cannot be beat, especially with a tasty drink in hand from the swim-up bar! Marala was definitely a highlight of our trip!"

"I don't even know where to start. This place was PERFECTION! The staff in the entire hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful, I feel that they are all our friends now. The food at the restaurant is amazing, people come visit from outside the hotel just to dine at the restaurant. The pools are sooo nice, and that is a highlight for me because my husband hates getting into pools, I literally had never seen him enjoy a pool the was he did in this hotel. We didn't have to share it with other guests when we went in and it just feels very peaceful and the views are breathtaking. The day we checked out I literally thought he would not get out of the pool so we could leave. The servers at the restaurant and pool bar were very nice and we enjoyed having conversations with them, Abraham, Anthony and Ricardo. The bell guys, the tour guide, our concierge, it just feels like they're all a family. The room was super comfortable and spacious, we had a view even from the shower with a giant window, plus a balcony and a huge rooftop for ourselves. They offer a complimentary tour of the property that is about 6 acres of preserved forest where you can see monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, among many other birds and species."
