We booked this motel with realistic expectations—just two families looking for a budget-friendly place to sleep during a fun trip to Penticton. Cleanliness was our only must-have. After reading mixed reviews and calling to confirm that the rooms were clean, we felt reassured and went ahead with the booking.
Unfortunately, what we found was the dirtiest motel we’ve ever stayed in. There were spider webs and baby spider nests all around the building and inside the room. The smoke detector was missing, with exposed wires in the ceiling. The ceiling fan was close to falling off the ceiling onto us as we slept. We found empty vodka bottles in the nightstand, beer cans filled with cigarette butts in the kitchen cupboards, stained sheets with food crusted into them, and dead bugs lining the windows.
We asked staff to clean the room again, and they did, but when we requested some compensation for the first night (which we spent cleaning), they repeatedly said they had to contact the owners—yet no one followed up.
Adding to the concern, there are no security cameras on the property. Another guest told us an $8,000 adaptive tricycle was stolen overnight. This place clearly doesn’t care about cleanliness or safety.
We’ve stayed in older motels before and had no issues—like the Riverside nearby, which is aged but clean and cared for. This motel was simply filthy and mismanaged. I rarely write reviews, but this one had to be shared. Please do not stay here.
