"Our room was clean and the microwave and fridge was perfect for breakfast in our room. While the room was a nice size the beds were close to the bathroom door not allowing you to open the door all the way."

"We stayed here for 2 nights because our other rental place was not available at the time. The Seaview is the oldest hotel on the island (75 years) and has been recently renovated. It's not a completely new structure so some of the bones are still old with paint over it which adds to the charm. I am only reviewing the room we stayed in which I believe to be the best one in this hotel and possibly the best room on the Philipsburg waterfront. Room 29 is a corner unit on the second floor with a large balcony on the waterfront. The room has a fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and bedroom with water views. There are only 2 rooms with a balcony so that could be a deal breaker for a lot of people. We did not eat or drink at the restaurant/bar so cannot comment on that. We did walk to the Fairway Mark It towards the cruise pier for cheap beer and wine plus groceries. Something you need to consider staying in Philipsburg is most of the businesses close early after the cruiseships leave so bar and restaurants are very limited after 5pm. would I stay here again, Absolutely but would have to be room 29 for me. I seen a lot of negativity in the reviews regarding the staff. They were not very enthusiastic or overly friendly I must say but not rude as some may suggest. The best thing about our stay was to sit on the deck watching the cruiseships come in to port while enjoying our morning coffee. In the evening, we would watch them sail away will drinking a glass of wine. "

"My stay at Sonesta was a bit of a mixed experience. There were several maintenance issues in the room that really shouldn’t have been overlooked. The shower head needed fixing, the AC seemed stuck at 18 degrees the entire time, and the Body Soap, Shampoo and conditioner dispensers were broken, which was inconvenient. The pool area was also disappointing. There’s only one pool, and it was consistently very crowded, making it hard to actually enjoy. That said, the staff were genuinely nice and helpful, which made a positive difference during the stay. Overall, it has potential, but the property really needs better upkeep and attention to detail."

"We enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed and the view was perfect. Staff was great and the Gingerbread Cafe is well recommended. That being said, rooms are dated and could use a update."

"Breakfast was painfully slow, on one day breakfast took over one hour. The kitchen wither works very slowly or is severely understaffed. The car park didnt have electronic keys available during our 5 days, we had to have the bell hop walk us to car park each time so they could use their car park key to let us out. "

"Guy at the front desk was nice and very helpful. Check in was quick and easy. Parking was good too. The double bedroom can use a little more TLC far as the random spots, mattress and ripped bedsheets. "
