"4 adults, 2 couples loved our stay at Tityra lodge. When booking this lodge it did not show how 2 rooms would look in the photos so I thought we would be getting a family suite where there are no bedroom, just 2 beds. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and had 2 full separate bedrooms and a gorgeous bathroom. The bathroom was equipped with slippers, lots of towels, shower caps, robes, shampoo and conditioner, anything you really needed. It had a small fridge and a coffee maker. There is no microwave. It had a dehumidifier which was much needed as it gets very damp outside. The family who owns the lodge is very friendly and you will see them out and about doing upkeep on the property daily. The breakfast was awesome and included in our stay. There is a locked gate on the property that closes at 10pm, there is an emergency number to contact if you are out later past 10pm and need to get back in. The check in is only from around 1pm-8pm, we arrived during the day but I’m not sure how seamless it would be for late arrivals? There is no AC in the units but I asked for a fan and they provided two!! There are 1km of trails around the coffee plants that were fun to explore. The lodge is a short 10 min drive into the neighbouring town that has tourist shops and lots of restaurants. The area feels very safe. The internet works great. Would recommend to couples, individuals, and families with children! "

"We arrived and were immediately blown away by how beautiful the property is — we didn’t even want to leave to go eat! The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and fully equipped with a kitchen. The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. The outdoor areas are stunning, filled with vibrant plants and flowers, and the natural spring pool and mountain views make it all even more breathtaking. We ordered breakfast delivered daily, and it was always fresh and delicious. "Do not be discouraged by the road to Rancho Humo, what lies at the end turned out to be a real gem. This property is nestled up against the central wetlands of Nicoya peninsula on the shore of the Tempisque river and is a definitive location for birdwatchers from all over. My wife and I are not birdwatchers but booked this based on its remote location and its high marks from other reviews. We also booked in offseason so fortunately for us we were the only guests and the staff was so great to make us feel welcome and taken care of all week. Be sure to let Kenneth make you feel welcome and attend to whatever your needs are and listen to his vast knowledge about the property and it’s animal inhabitants while on the safari tour. Also, Chef Kenya is an absolute magician in the kitchen so don’t miss her daily culinary offerings. Will absolutely return one day, maybe not during the rainy season though… 😁"
