I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Clackamas beginning on 12/27, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I understand the hotel is currently under construction, but the level of disruption and lack of follow-through was unacceptable.
Upon check-in, I was assigned a room where both the phone and television were not functioning. I notified the front desk, and I was told someone would be sent up to fix the issue. No one ever came. I reported the issue again the following morning and was again told someone would come, but no one did. Eventually, I encountered a maintenance worker in the hallway who checked the room and stated he could not fix the issues.
I was then moved to another room; however, the amenities were not comparable to the first. While the television worked, the phone did not, and the thermostat was not functioning properly. The room would not warm beyond 70 degrees, which made the stay uncomfortable. I again informed the front desk and was told someone would be sent and that it would be documented, but once again, there was no follow-through or resolution.
When I spoke with the manager about the repeated issues, I was told there was nothing he could do because I booked through Expedia rather than directly through Hilton. That response was disappointing, as the issues were related to the hotel’s maintenance and guest experience, not the booking platform.
