Canto de Luz has been one of my favourite hotel stays in my many years of travelling. From the hotel’s gorgeous interior to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, I truly can’t fault the hotel. The breakfast each morning is superb, and the hotel is walking distance from so many hot spots. The only suggestion I have would be to add some luggage racks to the bedrooms, but the absence of this by no means ruined our stay ☺️

Excellent staff especially Ludmila who referred us to Almada 331. We met the owner Fernando who was an Amazing host. We loved everything about the hotel & have referred our friends. Excellent location. Loved the sample pirt. Laundry is nearby and easy to eat while doing laundry. Trindade metro to airport is close so no need to worry abput transport.

We stayed for 2 nights in Mid May. The location is ok, I would’ve preferred to stay near the Duoro River and Luis Bridge instead. The rooms, staff, bf everything is excellent! The location is not bad about 15 mins walk to the river area. We booked a Bolt ride a few times and it was a bit hard for the drivers to identify the location somehow got dropped a little ahead or behind at all times.

Great place near central Porto

Wonderful place to stay, short walk into center of Porto. Rooms were clean and spacious with a fantastic shower! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, served on the covered patio or courtyard. The wine machine is also a big plus. We had a large group of 15 people. Some of the rooms open into suites that are perfect for families, with mini-kitchen and washer/dryer. Highly recommend Canto de Luz for couples, families, or groups in Porto. I would definitely return to this property.

Nice hotel a little further out but with parking

Very nice hotel a little further from most areas but still walkable (chose it due to available parking). Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The room was a little muggy and was too warm to use the heat (AC wasn't an option). The place could really use an ice machine- the only ice is from a refrigerator in the kitchen with minimal available each time we checked.

Do not let the street or door fool you, this was by far one of our favorites! The rooms are absolutely lovely, well designed, high tech, and larger than normal hotels. Staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful, breakfast was delicious and the back patio was stunning! Parking was tight and around $18.50€, but you do not need a car, everything is within walking distance or you can take an Uber. This is definitely a hidden gem, we look forward to staying here during our next visit to Porto! The only negative was the weather …we were stuck in a torrential downpour when we vacationed in late March.

Girls trip.

This hotel is in middle of the city which is great if you want to walk around and eveything was easy to get to. Getting a taxi is easy or bolt like uber is very friendly. The staff is super nice and friendly the breakfast was serviced with so much care. We enjoyed that alot. But the bed is hard mattresses that was very uncomfortable for us. The room we selected was garden facing but no view of the garden that was disappointing. The sofa bed was also not very comfortable.

Two of us stayed in this boutique hotel for 3 nights. Hotel is located in nice neighborhood and it is a walking distance to major sites in the city. Very clean and modern space nice bed clean and fresh scent sheets and extremely pleasant staff, they reserved a nice restaurant nearby for us. Modern bathroom and cleaning service every day. Breakfast was included with option for pastries fruit coffee eggs and orange juice. Make sure you read your email so you can access the building with the code they sent you. There were some construction nearby and it was hard to get a good nap in the afternoon but that’s not the fault of the hotel

Lovely stay in Porto with our 17-month old toddler

We had an incredible stay at Canto de Luz and highly recommend it—especially for families traveling with little ones! The location is perfect: central yet on a quiet street, and we found Porto much more stroller-friendly than Lisbon. We could walk everywhere with ease. Our City Retreat suite on the ground floor was super convenient with our 17-month-old, offering plenty of space (including a long hallway for him to run around). The large pack ‘n play crib was perfect, and the floor-to-ceiling windows could be fully blacked out, making naps a breeze—for both baby and parents! Breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. They even provided baby cutlery and plates, which was such a nice touch. The bright, airy dining space with large windows overlooking the terrace made for a lovely start to the day. Though we couldn’t use the heated pool due to the weather, it was a great added feature. The staff was wonderful—Susan was always available via WhatsApp, and Joanna warmly greeted us each morning. They even provided milk for our baby when we arrived late and hadn’t had time to go to the grocery store. The small details, like a towel-warming rack, easy-to-use washer/dryer, intuitive lighting, and an incredibly comfortable bed, made our stay extra special. We absolutely loved our experience at Canto de Luz and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Porto, especially families.
