"The hotel is old but kept clean, if you are looking for a place to unwind this is definitely not the place there is very loud music that not even earplugs will help you, and that is a plane fact, till 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning besides that, in regards the hotel its is old but clean, I personally will never stay there again because of how loud it is at might. "
"First , tbe hotel was in the middle of complete renovation. There was scaffolding accross the balconies, exposed wiring, uneven walkways and steps, construction people working on all floors and debris everywhere. There was no sound insulation from the loud beach party accross the street that lasted past 2:00 am.. The shower had no shelving, so the shampoo bottles were on the floor.
The pictures looked completely different from reality. Even the "beach access" photo was photoshopped to take out the large moss-covered, jagged boulders that prevented beach access.
I have photos to.prove it.
We left the hotel a day early, and received a partial refund.
A truly regrettable experience start to.finish. "
"What a beautiful property! Fabulous pools, perfect beach set up with palapas , attentive staff everywhere . The one bedroom over looked the ocean and zero gravity pool , and what a great place! By the way, travel is after the problems in Puerto Vallarta , Baja Tijuana etc- there is zero problem in Rocky Point. "
"Firstly, the hotel IS NOT located where Expedia indicates it is located. It is, in fact, 20 minutes further away.
The price would indicate this is a relatively high end accommodation, but it is equivalent to an average Motel 6, with a fair value closer to $50/night.
There is a rock band that begins playing at 9:30 pm, and plays until 1:00 am. If you have a pool/ocean view room like I did, the drums echo VERY LOUDLY into your room. The furthest room is only 50 feet from the stage, which is separated from the pool area by a plastic sheet, not a wall.
The beds are so hard you will likely wake up with bruised ribs. And I stayed in mid-February, so I had to strip the bedding off the second queen bed to not freeze to death at night.
The rooms have been cleaned well, but the carpet and bedding is very old and shows stains of past guests.
The location is roughly in the middle of the beach, but behind the beachfront hotels, so the ocean view is only partial. And if you want to sleep at night, you will have to opt for the desert view rooms, which don't have balconies and are much more dated, and smaller.
There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves "western food". There is one hotel restaurant a short walk away, which is expensive. All other food and entertainment is a minimum 20 minute walk away, with no street lights.
There are no safes in the rooms, and only 5 small ones at the front desk. A laptop won't fit.
The beach is very nice, as were the sunrise and sunset."
"Clean room and friendly staff. Stayed there a couple years ago and had a fabulous room upgrade but not so this time, downgraded to two double bed on the 3rd floor. Hotel provides a complimentary breakfast at their restaurant. Last time you could order a fabulous breakfast off the menu but this time they had a new breakfast menu with two options which both were gross. 2 pre frozen pancakes or a leftover Mexican tortilla chip casserole that was gross. A small glass of orange juice and water. While it was clean and friendly we will probably not return for further downgrades. "
"The room is small.
The photos online are really great and it appears larger than it is. We brought food to make instead of eating out. It’s not set up for that. It has a few really bad pots and a 2 burner stovetop thing.
There was no hand soap in the bathroom and we ran out of the (1) roll of toilet paper provided early the first day. There was no replacement and since it was night and the stores were closed we had to get creative… Ew!
The loft is clearly built for kids so my grown daughters had to crawl to the bed up there.
Finally, the rooftop terrace and grill advertised in the description is not really accessible and is in no way close to the unit itself. We had planned to grill and so found this misleading. "
