"Beautiful location and view"

"The Venezuelan receptionist Susete was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This hotel has charm and character throughout, guests made to feel really welcome, pick fruit from the garden, help themselves to drinks (and pay for them on the honesty sheet), and the complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival was a lovely touch. We were very disappointed that we were only staying for 2 nights in this very highly recommended hotel. Huge choice for breakfast too - magical!"

"1905 Zino’s Palace is an historical gem on Madeira Portugal. The food was so outstanding and delicious that we ate all three dinners there. Plus we had a lunch when we arrived that was convenient and yummy. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge selection of goodies plus eggs to order. The employees, each and every one of them was helpful, talkative and enjoyable. To stay there and know your money is being put into a historical building is worth every penny. You feel like you have gone back in...

"Immer sehr sauberes Zimmer, das Pool sehr gut zum Relaxen....man fühlt sich sehr wohl, auch durch das freundliche Personal, wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig"

"Dusche wackelug, Bett zu hart, Kein deutscher TV Sender"

"We had a great experience at Saccharum. Property is very clean and well kept, the view from our ocean room was amazing. The staff was helpful and friendly, going out of their way to get us a correct power adapter as we had the incorrect one. The breakfast buffet was top tier, we looked forward to our first meal of the day. We enjoyed our drinks at the beach club, and the loungers were clean and comfortable. My wife said her spa appointment in the hotel was a highlight of our trip to Madeira."

"Great Hotel with the best views and black beach! Highly recommend! Friendly stuff and clean rooms"

"Great staff. Clean."

"Incredible location, right at the starting point of hiking trails. Breathtaking views. Delicious food. Super friendly and accommodating staff members!"

"The food was very interesting. Some overcooked. There were ants in the dessert. We often resorted to the restaurants along the pier. They also forgot to put my birthday amenity until after we arrived but all in all the hotel was beautiful and had a very scenic view to gaze upon the mountains, oceans and sunsets. I wish it was closer to Funchal as it’s 40 minutes away and quite expensive to frequently travel to. The area is quite limited with activities so having a shorter stay would’ve been a...

"Toll! Von A bis Z. Sehr angenehm!"

"Gorgeous corner room with two balconies and that view of the ocean! Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean spaces. Great breakfast buffet too. And love the Nespresso coffee in the room and the lovely fruit and water welcome gift."

"Lovely breakfast. Nice room. Great pool area. Overall very good. For a 4 star hotel, I’d expect some milk to go with the tea and coffee. And a bottle of water to go with the glasses provided. Asked about both and was told neither were included. Disappointing."

"Quiet location away from the hustle of the city yet within the city"

"Good location, we walked into town a few times or a short bus/taxi ride. Bus right outside the hotel including the airport bus. Really good breakfast, some more vegetarian options would be great. Staff especially reception staff were really helpful. Didn't like: upgrading to partial sea view was disappointing."

"The location and views were amazing, but unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. There was an overwhelming smell of vinegar in the room, and the patio was covered in ants, which really detracted from the experience. We were also shocked to discover that pool towels cost €10. Charging guests extra for something as basic as a pool towel feels unreasonable and left a poor impression. We can’t comment on the breakfast itself, as we had to check out before 7 a.m. We did,...
