"The room was very comfortable, spacious, quiet and worked well for three people. Bathroom was very nice also. Breakfast was very good with lots of food choices. Was a bit disappointed to not be able to check in early, but overall this was a very nice hotel to stay at."
"Upside:
SUPER friendly and helpful staff, nice bar. Good atmosphere. An amazing garden.
Great location - easy walk to the beach. Quiet, despite being central.
To manage your expectation:
- The hotel is very old with squeaky wooden floors under the carpet… the furniture is from ages ago, too. If you are after luxury, forget about it.
- The pool would be great in winter. For summer (particularly if there is a heatwave), it is way too warm!
CAUTION:
If you are booking one of the cheaper room options, call them and confirm your room will have a proper window."
"The room was clean and well maintained with the staff being very friendly and breakfast being delicious with the pool and jacuzzi being so relaxing and chilling. The only minus would be that the rooms have no AC so be prepared to bring your own cooling fan."
"We had 3 rooms for 2 nights. The rooms were nice but a little on the smaller side for a double. All the rooms had slightly different arrangement. Two of the rooms had a shower in the bath and for some reason one of the rooms baths didn’t drain well, we informed the hotel but they were unable to sort the problem during the stay.
We had a birthday celebration and eat in the hotel. Some of the food was excellent however it was not consistent across the meal. The tuna tartar was poor, 5 of us had it. We felt it was bland with little flavour. The Fish & Chips was nice although the chips were dry. My daughter loved her meal, she had the lamb. It a lovely old hotel and we generally enjoy the decor and travelling in the old lift. We would go back due to its location and generally charm. The staff are very nice although for some reason it doesn’t operate like a well oiled machine!"
