"The room smelt of mildew. A fan would be useful…….but overall an excellent location and stay. We loved the character and beauty of the area. "

"No wifi for 3 days. Given a slip of paper and told to ring internet provider myself.. . Did this 3 times and complained toffice twice. Told to ring no. On paper. Then i rang reception and made offical complailt after they told me to write a weiten complaint. Wery poor public relations."

"B&B style accommodation with lovely views over Russell and Kororareka Bay. The rooms are comfortable and exceptionally clean, with a small kitchen and fridge. Welcoming owners who provided a good list of things to do, places to eat and visit during our stay. The complex has a BBQ and spa area and washing facilities (at additional cost). The balcony is great to sit for a morning coffee or an afternoon wine to take in the views. The place is located within an quick walk to Russell central, Foreshore and Long Beach. The driveway is very steep drive and walk up, and parking not suitable for larger vehicles. Overall a great option stay for couples visiting Russell."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at Villa Russell. The balcony views to the bay were both beautiful and relaxing. The room was large with a king sized bed and good quality linen and towels. The room had a small kitchen with fridge microwave, kettle etc . Breakfast items were located in the fridge. We enjoyed the simple breakfast of cereal, toast, fruits and yoghurt. Sue, our host was very helpful. "
