ロバニエミから長距離バスで到着、次の日も同じバスに乗ってロバニエミに戻るので目の前がバス停で便利だった。いくつかの棟があって私たちのお部屋と朝食会場はチェックインの建物とは違い徒歩3分ほどのところだった。ホテルの周りには何もないが10分ほど歩くと街の中心地へ。立地は悪くないと思う。

Matkalla pohjoiseen

Pitkän matkan jälkeen täysin siivoamaton huone oli ikävä yllätys, mikä tosin vaihtamalla parani. Huone oli helteistä kuuma kuin pätsi. Aamiainen oli erinomainen, eräs parhaista Suomessa.

En olisi uskonut että standard huoneet voi olla vielä tuollaisia opiskelija kämppiä. Äänet kuuluu läpi huoneistojen, sängyt ja petivaatteet tyynyineen ysäri vuosilta, aamupala kasattu halvimmista raaka-aineista.

Spacious for solo traveler, but not very clean

Stayed in Studio with Sauna. The room was spacious enough for solo traveler, and a small kitchen was available which was good. Sauna worked well. But the building was quite old, and the bedroom was a bit cold when sleeping. Looked not very clean, and there was some uncomfortable smell at shower room.

Standard-huone ostettu etukäteen netissä. Paikanpäällä selvisi että kyse on economy luokan huoneesta kaikkein kauimmassa parakkirakennuksessa. Kylpyhuone täysin ala-arvoinen. Parkkipaikkoja ei ole, autot jalkakäytävillä ja nurmikoilla. Ei hissiä. Huone kellaritiloissa, betoniseinät ja pieni ikkuna katonrajassa. Reklamoitu hotellille heti saavuttaessa, ei muutosta.

Aikaisemmilta käynneiltä tuttu paikka, mutta monet asiat muuttuneet ja alkuinfossa emme saaneet riittäviä tietoja esim. siitä, että tanssiliput piti erikseen hakea respasta. Käytössä oli vain yksi sauna, joten miesten myöhäinen saunavuoro haittasi iltamenoja. Monipuolinen aamiainen, välillä hyvin ruuhkainen, mutta loppulomaa kohden järjestelyjä parannettiin.

Check in closes at 10.00.p.m. at a major tourist area. The plane with tourists from the capital, Helsinki, does not arrive at the closest airfield until 10.30.p.m. They need to consider this. The afterhours lockbox is situated outside. It was minus 25 Celsius and dark when we arrived. The lockboxes inside need two fingers for the metal buttons on either side. I still have peeling finger skin two weeks later from having to touch them. The lockbox should be situated in an inside lobby - very poor. There are multiple buildings in this complex and not well lit, so you have to find your in the dark and the cold and pulling your suitcase through snow.

Surkea hotelli, välttäkää!

Todella surkea kokemus, en suosittele missään nimessä. Mainoskuvissa hieno päähotelli, meidät lähettiin syrjään johonkin vanhaan rakennukseen. Huoneessa 28 tuuman TV katossa, josta ei juuri nähnyt mitään. Tosin, kanaviakin näkyi ainoastaan 4. WC:ssä lasien sijaan pahvimukit. Sängyt ilmeisesti vanhat huonoilla jousilla. Sauna eri rakennuksessa, jossa käytävässä kokolattiamatolla ilmeisesti oksennusta.

Hotellin sijainti on hyvä, lähellä kaikkia ulkoilumahdollisuuksia ja ravintoloita. Varaamamme huone oli erillisessä rakennuksessa ja huone oli melko vanhahtava ja pinnat kuluneet ja matkaa päärakennukseen, jossa respa ja aamupala, olisi ollut noin 200m. Vaihdomme (lisähintaan) päärakennuksessa sijaitsevaan saunalliseen huoneeseen joka oli huomattavasti parempikuntoinen ja sauna oli mukava lisä. Isoin miinus tulee aamupalasta joka oli kyllä runsas ja vaihtoehtoja löytyi, mutta esim pekonia ja nakkeja ei ollut tarjolla. Sen sijaan ryynimakkaraa ja pyttipannua oli. Aamupalasalissa oli aivan liian vähän istumapaikkoja porrastuksista huolimatta ja kaikki joutuivat tullessaan kiertelemään salissa useamman kierroksen löytääkseen istumapaikan. Likaisia astioita ei ehditty kerätä pöydistä pois tarpeeksi nopeasti. Myös puhtaat astiat loppuivat muutamaan kertaan, esim kahvin sai juoda pahvimotista yhtenä aamuna. Viimeisenä aamuna munakokkeli loppui jo yhdeksän jälkeen eikä lisää tullut, joten viimeiset tulijat jäivät kokonaan ilman. Ainakin meille hotellin valintaan vaikuttaa oleellisesti kokemus aamupalasta, ja tällä kertaa kokemus oli melko kehno vaikkakin ruuat itsessään olivat hyviä ja maistuvia.
