Attractive romantic hotel

Arrived at the end of the season when the region was very quiet, so some amenities closed. In full season there would have been lots to do including the floral park next door. Castle has an interesting history and ornate facade and is complete with Rapunzel tower and grand salon. Our room was up high with a pleasant view of the drive. Owners are developing and has lots of potential. Owner keen to please. Calm and relaxing environment.

Beau cadre mais prestations en deçà des attentes

Notre séjour s’est globalement bien passé, mais nous avons été déçus par l’organisation du petit-déjeuner. Bien que nous ayons réservé la suite du château, c’est-à-dire la chambre la plus chère, aucune table n’était disponible à l’heure convenue. Nous avons dû repartir et attendre avant de pouvoir revenir, ce qui n’est pas acceptable pour ce niveau de prestation. Par ailleurs, dans la chambre, il n’y avait pas de moustiquaire, ce qui a rendu les nuits difficiles à cause des moustiques. En résumé, le cadre est agréable, mais certains points de confort et d’organisation ne sont pas au niveau attendu.

Wat een idyllische locatie. We werden opgewacht om ons de sleutel te overhandigen, er ligt een prachtige tuin rondom het kasteel en de gastheer vertelde ons tijdens het ontbijt het verhaal achter het kasteel. Het ontbijt was ook heel lekker.

Un château en ville

Nous avons passé 4 nuits au château. C'était parfait pour se reposer et profiter du beau temps tout en étant un peu éloigné de la mer. La chambre a une jolie vue sur la cour du château. Les propriétaires sur place sont discrets tout en étant présents si nécessaire. Le petit déjeuner est servi à l'heure convenue, dans une jolie salle de la partie la plus ancienne du château. Un feu dans l'imposante cheminée en fait un moment encore plus agréable. Il est servie par les différents membres de la famille qui racontent l'histoire du château. Il y a un restaurant indépendant dans les anciens communs qui a une très bonne table. Cette adresse mérite d'être connue pour profiter de La Vendée autrement.

Beautiful château in a small town. A great stop over with friendly service. Limited facilities on site and in town however you are only a 10 minute drive away from supermarkets and eateries
